Two things:
The other doula I liked a lot will be out of town from June 12th-15th. She says most babies seem to "wait for the doula" and that she will have a backup, but as you know I am due June 11th! I am nuot even sure if it is worth meeting her, but she has tons of exp. and that is exactly what I want. I don't want a newbie doula
I am stressing about the name. I see all these siggies with the baby's name already and I feel bad for my boy And naming someone is a HUGE deal. So please, help a sister out. We are looking for a strong name, nothing feminine or soft (if that make sense). And for sure the little guy is going to look somewhat exotic or mixed, so a name that goes good with that would be great (he will most certainly have curly hair, could have lighter eyes, who knows about the skin color but I am guessing slightly tanned). Here is what we have so far:
Jack--Always liked this name, and it seems mischievous which I like.
Kingston--I think this is a good strong name and kind of unique. I dunno if I call him King for short or what though
Kai--Ok seriously I got this the other day from some dude on American Idol I think it is a different name and kind of funky in a good way. Maybe too much so though, and I have a 2nd cousin named Zekai already.
Cal/Calvin--This used to be on our list and I do still like it. I esp. like Cal and Dustin is an Asimov fan so it fits that. Not sure how great it sounds with our last name though.
Jett/Jet--from Avatar the last Airbender, lmao. I like it though
ETA: Atticus--from To Kill a Mockingbird.

Im no help with the Doula so i'll just pass that question up!
I LOVE the name Kai, Michelle!!! But I also love kingston and Jack. But I know what you mean about the baby going to look exotic and tan (Hes going to be soooo cute!) so he should have a different name. In my opinion going by that you should definitely go with Kai (Or whatever spelling you choose! Kye, Kai, Kaye, Cai, Caye) Good Luck I hope you get the doula situation figured out too!
Edited for spelling!

I like all your names girl.....I especially like Cal. Callum was going to be our boy name....that's a strong name - Calvin also - I like that - we toyed with that as well since its DH's grandpa's name but his dad's middle name is Calvin and he didn't want to name baby after his dad.?
Anyway - I like Jack too always have. I'm not a fan of Kai or Kingston....not sure why.
I'm no help on the doula thing...I don't do doula...I do epidural!

I don't know if I would worry about the dates....most babies seem to come either early or late, and rarely on their due date!
I like Jack, I think Kingston is overused honestly. I LIKE the name, but Gwen Stefani kind of ruined it for everyone because it's way too popular now. But I'm a weirdo obviously

Callum is interesting
I also just came up with Atticus. From To Kill a Mockingbird. Kind of cool.
With the doula, I just think I could be 2 or 3 days later then my due date, and she wouldn't be there, you know?

I know nothing about doula's but I will glady help with names...
Jack--I like it but I can see "Jack and Jill went up the hill..." teasing as well as I instantly associate it with Lost (not that that is a bad thing).
Kingston--If you don't want the nickname King I would steer away from the choice but I do think it is unique. At least I don't hear it in my neck of the woods.
Kai--Honestly sounds a bit feminine to me.
Cal/Calvin--Hmmm I think this is my favorite out of your list. I would use Calvin as the given name and allow Cal to be a nickname.
Jett/Jet--Seems like a nickname to me.
Have you thought about: Jaxon, Colston, Kain, Calahan, Jethro?

Jethro reminds me of some poor black boy. Kain, well, you know the whole Cain and Abel Mormonism thing. Calahan is interesting! I will run Jaxon and Colston both by Dustin, those could be interesting.

Haha I just threw Jethro into the list because I had a matching other name for all the other names and I couldn't think of anything to go with Jet.
I thought Kain/Cain sounded familiar. That completely wasn't what I was thinking of when I suggested it. HAHA.
I know name picking is such a responsibility but then again it is fun too (at least for me!). Boy names come MUCH easier to me than girls names though. If you were having a girl I would be of no help.

Jack--I love this name. It would be a top pick for me as well, but DH doesnt like it.
Kingston--Don't like it. It sounds like a pet's name to me.
Kai--Love it. Very exotic sounding.
Cal/Calvin--Not a favorite.
Jett/Jet--Different. Short and sweet.
Have you thought about Adam or Dexter (Dex for short).

Madden or Mattox--Dh doesn't like
Adam--I think may be too plain or traditional
Dexter/Dex--I always think of those phone book commercials with that balding dude that turns into a phone book
I like Dex though if it wasn't for those commercials.
Ok, is Atticus too strange?
What about Q?

Atticus is definitely unique in this time period. I think it all depends on how much commentary you want from the general public about your name choice.
My MIL already told me that we are going to have to have a talk about names of her future grandchildren after hearing the name I want to use for my first son.
Melding this post over from the private area... but I really like Cristen's suggestion of Vince/Vincent!

I'm not good with boy names. Out of the ones you listed, I only like Kingston.
Cai is good as a shorter name. I have a friend who's son is Macaiah and the call him Cai for short.
Your taste of names seems different to mine so I'm not sure what to suggest. I had boy names like Jonathan, Joshua, Brennan, Mathias and Nathaniel on my list. Originally if I had a boy, he would have been Joshua Nathaniel but then DH and I changed coming on to the end to Jonathan Mathias.
I'm not a fan of Atticus.

I talked to Dustin and he came up with tons of names. One from Mortal Kombat and I think the rest from video games lol
Mathis
Brody
Quade
Rune
Gage--sounds like a drug dealer
Sirius--B/c he is a Gary Oldman fan, not a HP fan
Gavin--he still likes it
And he also likes:
Parker
Jaxon
Vincent--only problem I have with this is that it seems somewhat hispanic to me, and my brother was often confused for hispanic (I am too sometimes) which is sort of annoying. I don't think our boy will be as dark as me though so that may not be an issue.
