So Andy calls me from work today and says "hey, you want a puppy?" I was like WHAT?! Umm we're about to have a baby and you want a puppy LoL?! After talking for a while we've decided to get him. He's a 10 week old black lab/golden retriever mix and we'll be picking him up Thursday night. We're going over names but I think we both really like Moses. I'm getting a puppy and I'm due in 31 days... yes, I'd say I'm crazy You're gonna laugh at this too, we're like a freakin animal farm over here. I have a bearded dragon named Spyro, 2 cats (Milo and Zoey), 2 gerbils (Edward and Emmett), and 5 carnivorous fish and NOW a dog I feel like when people come over I'll need to ask for admission to my zoo hehe!

If it was me, yes it would definitely be a crazy thing to do! I am NOT an animal person. But you already have quite the menagerie so I think one more animal in the mix wouldn't be that huge of a deal! Good luck and I can't wait to see pics!

And Moses is a great name!

OMG yes that is crazy!!! I mean I love animals, but not before baby is due!!! Especially when puppys need soooo much attention to potty train and all. ANd they play soooo much!!! We have a 5 year old dog an cat, and DH talk about how much we'll probably not pay attention to them once we have baby here. And dogs are so much different than any other animal- cats at least can use litter boxes, and eat when they're hungry. Young pups need love, need to play, need attention, need to be let out... etc.

Thats just me though. Good luck Lisa

Awww!! I've wanted one but we have to wait till we have a fenced yard.
And that type of dog will be very good with your girls. We had a Black Lab/German Shepard mixed that we got when I was 3 and she was the best dog ever(got put down right after I graduated, she was really sick )

Congrats. I remember when I was pregnant 2 years ago (miscarried later) and we were all set for a puppy. I had spoken to the breeder for months and I was so so so sad to think I would have to call her to tell her we couldn't get a puppy since I thought a baby and a pup were too much all at once. Well she told me of a friend of hers who had a 6 month old girl who was housetrained and my husband, who knew I was heartbroken as I had been waiting over 25 years to get a puppy, said we could get her. After I miscarried, Ellie, became my comfort, joy, and baby. Its going to be a lot to manage but its doable and on down times when the baby is sleeping you can cuddle with your other baby.

PS I love your gerbil's names!
