I'm having kind of a day of panic.

So I went to my OB appt. on Monday and our little guy is doing great. I'm up another 4 pounds, so I've gained 20 pounds total so far. I made a joke that for the last week it seems like he's managed to kick me in the ribs more than I care for. My OB says "well, I have a feeling according to your ultrasounds that he has very long legs. He's running out of room! Now that you're 30 weeks, we need to start talking about your labor and delivery."

She then told me that since my pregnancy is going great, and if things continue to progress well, she will not stop labor after 36 weeks. She also said that just because I went into premature labor before does not necessarily mean I will start again before my due date.

I don't know what I was thinking before....... but OMG 36 weeks for me is April 5th! That's like a month away! It's not the pain or the birth that worries me. And I feel totally ready to be a mom. But I feel so unprepared!! At the same time, I'm in the middle of acquiring my daycare license and turning our house into kid zone. The nursery is also a work in progress and there are so many things we need for this baby. All the while, I'm still working full time.....

I have SO many lists of things to buy and do. DH and I tick away at least a few things a week, but I still feel so much pressure. Granted, our son may decide to even be late. But I can't get my focus off the idea he could be here in like a month!

You have the basics right? Car seat, clothes, diapers, food, shelter.....the rest is just fluff. Babies only care about you...nothing else.

Time sure is flying! I am sure you will get it all done before the baby gets here, at least the important stuff.

I know, time is really flying! I have days where I am freaked out about how close we are too. It doesn't help that my shower isn't until 34 weeks (and then my work shower, who knows!) and I have to wait to see if others buy me stuff before I go get it myself.

We don't have a car seat either...

Relax, get your lists out and checked and everything will fall into place. Just make sure you try and get all the basics. Babies dont need as much as we make out but we love to lavish them in things. You'll get it done!!

Buy the carseat and a pack of newborn size diapers. If you get a carseat at your shower then you can return whichever one you like the least. At least that way you know you have them and you can stop worrying! As long as you have some diapers and clothes and a couple blankies for baby you will more than make it through the first week or two!
