I'm not TTC, but just trying to figure out the spotting I keep having, and how it effects fertility. And I do want another baby or two someday, so I want to fix the problem asap. My doctor is pretty sure I have a hormonal imbalance. I am still waiting for my bloodwork results, but most things point to that. I have gained weight quickly, have skin outbreaks (I used to have perfect skin ), and spot around ovulation and again a few days before AF.

What can be done for a hormonal imbalance if you're TTC? I still seem to ovulate. I mean, I have fertile CM, temp rise, and have gotten positive OPK's. Do they give you clomid or another fertility drug? Is there anything I can try to naturally correct things? My doctor seems to be pushing just staying on BCP's, but I HATE hormonal BC, I'd rather use charting to avoid since I'm well aware of when I'm fertile and when I'm not.

supplements for whatever hormone your lacking in would be the fix if TTC. KUP with your test results!

Diet and exercise help PCOS women like you wouldn't believe. They may help for other hormone imbalances too. For some women, exercising only a couple days of week and having an "ok" diet are just not enough. We get to take the hard road of having to exercise everyday and drastically change our diets. I can't think of anything else that would actually correct a hormone imbalance, though I am sure there are lots of other alternatives (acupuncture, supplements, treating an underlying problem like a thyroid problem). Drugs like clomid don't correct, they just override. Kup.
