Hi all, I just spoke to Lauren's mom, and from what I gather her fluid has started leaking. I guess she went into the hospital and insisted they check her. When they did, they discovered that it is in fact her fluid that is leaking. The only other piece of info I can tell you right now is that she will not be leaving the hospital now until little Alice arrives.

I hope I hear from her tomorrow. Please send thoughts and prayers to them...what a bumpy road this has been for them all.

oh no! Lots of prayers for Lauren, her DH, baby Alice, and the team of doctors that they will be able to figure out a way to keep baby Alice baking for as long as possible.

xposting my response from TTC#1 grads!

Shanna, thanks so much for updating! I was so out of it last night and couldn't manage to get on the laptop... They have me on Magnesium Sulfate, and that stuff was BRUTAL. I seriously felt like my heart was jumping out of my chest and that I was walking on the surface of the sun! Thankfully they gave me phenegren (sp?) so that knocked me out after awhile. The docs are contemplating re-doing the steroid shots, but we aren't sure about that as of yet.

Last night, I basically had to FORCE these people to check me at all. They were just blowing me off with the whole "you probably just peed yourself" bit. I demanded an exam, so they did a sterile swab and looked at it under a microscope. As soon as she left with the swab, it seemed like seconds later I had twenty nurses poking me with needles on both arms and prodding me. In about two minutes, I was on fluids and starting the Mag. drip. GODDESS BLESS that stuff was horrid! I just... can't quite put it into words!

Basically, if there are any signs of infection, they will have to either induce labor or c-section. I will be having an ultrasound sometime soon to see how Alice is developing and such. From what the doctor said, it could be days or weeks until we have her, depending on the circumstances.

Thanks to all of you for the thoughts and prayers- it means so much to us. We really want to keep Alice baking for as long as possible, but the outlook on time is not too good at this point.

OMGosh Lauren I'm sorry! I have had magnesium before and it SUCKED SO BAD, I can't imagine having it for an extended period of time!
Are they going to give you a steroid shot or anything for her lungs?
Praying that the u/s goes well and she stays in for a couple more weeks!
