As hard as it is... ignore the spitting out and if she actually eats any, make a BIG fuss of how good she is and clever girl, etc.
Bless her soul!! It's cute but frustrating. The baby I nannied for used to blow HUGE raspberries when food was in her mouth

I have no experience at all, but agree with what Fiona said. It seems to me, that kids need tons of positive encouragement and excitement to "get it" that eating is a good thing!

Oh, she is soooo cute! Ben did that raspberry blowing thing for a little while, but for the most part, he just swallows anything I put in his mouth (including chunks of food he's supposed to CHEW). She doesn't open very wide for you, either, mama! When I notice that Ben doesn't seem as enthused about eating something, I will generally make a big deal out of him eating it (OH! What a BIG BOY! Mmmm, it's good!! etc etc) and mimic him, so I open my mouth really big when he takes a bite.
I hope she starts eating better for you. She's soooo cute!!

No advise. I'm starting in a couple weeks. She is soooo cute! I had a big smile on my face while watching the video. She didn't look to thrilled by the food. I liked how she kept looking at the camera. Sooo stinkin cute!

its the swallow reflux. Most babies do it. It just means that she's not quite ready for solids, but doesnt mean you have to stop. Her mouth is just getting used to eating from a spoon vs a nipple. Its messy but she's ok She's so cute

Right now, I'd say she's doing just fine! Just keep trying it. At 9 months, she doesn't need solids for nutrition, so eating is for exploration and learning to eat from a spoon more than anything. Some days Elsa used to eat up, and others I only got a couple bites in. Also, pick a time when she is hungry, but not starving. So you might give her a bit of milk first, and then cut the feeding a bit and feed the solids. I'd see if that helps. But I think you're doing fine, and it looks like she is swallowing some! She is just adorable, I love the cheecks, and even the messy rasberries, LOL.

For the first week of solids Ivy would blow raspberries when I fed her. She would wait until the food was almost in her mouth then blow really hard and it would end up all over me and in her hair and on the floor, oy!!! She stopped though, thank goodness! She took to eating solids pretty quickly but I let her get used to it first by letting her suck the spoon. I would put a teeny bit of food on the tip of the spoon then let her sorta slurp it down. She mastered that really quick and then we went on to regular feeding. Now she LOVES eating, and can finish a jar of baby food in about 5 minutes.
She loves bread-ey stuff too, if I have anything that can be mushed she wants some so I pinch a bit between my fingers and give her. She looks like Boo from Monsters Inc. when she was eating the cheeries LOL!
