Yesterday afternoon, I was having alot of BH contractions. So I called my OB because she said if I ever had more than 4 an hr it could be something else. At that point, I had been counting them for 3 hrs and average 5 or 6 in an hr, a few being very painful. Off DH and I go to L&D to get checked out. The first hour I was there on the monitors, I went to 8 or 9 in an hr. Luckily, they did a vaginal exam and my cervix is completely closed.

But my contractions started getting a rythem, 3-4 minutes apart. The nurse said they weren't BH because they had a pattern, but they weren't true labor contractions because they didn't change my cervix. She gave me Terbulaine again and they stopped.

I'm going to call my OB today to get a better explaination as to what my body is doing. The impression I got from the nurse was that I may get these types of contractions up until delivery time. Well, how am I suppose to know the true difference if my "BH" develop a pattern? And I had no idea there could be a 3rd type of contraction.

Good news is baby is showing very healthy hearbeat and movement

Ugh, it stinks doesn't it! This is exactly what my body does the further along I get. I never even called my OB/midwife because if I called every time I got more than 4 an hour I'd be calling every day! Mine would pattern too--every 4 minutes for a couple hours and then they'd taper off. This would happen the last few months before delivery. And neither of my boys were premature--Liam was born at 37 weeks and Lochlann was born on his due date! Both completely healthy despite a touch of jaundice. I did have an episode of false labor with Lochlann but it was just the once at 39 weeks. When real labor did hit I KNEW it! You will know when its real. I can't explain how you will know but you will know. It's just... different. I do hope things calm down for you though, I know how it feels!

Talked to the OB today. She told me that unfortunately there is no way to predict how many more times this will happen. But I may be going back to L&D alot for the next few weeks.
