My boob hurts soo bad. It started feeling hard in one spot today while at work. It's getting worse. Oliver isn't wanting to nurse and I have been trying to pump but I only got 1 oz out. I skipped a pump session today to and still nothing. I must have a clogged duct. It's hard to lift him up because it hurts. I read warm compress and massage with lots of nursing. Damon went to work so I'm alone trying to do it all with Oliver being a little fussy. How long until it gets better?

Obviously nursing is what's going to help the most but breast massage in a warm shower will also work wonders, too! Good luck, Resi, I know how much it hurts.

Ditto!

How is Oliver and baths with you? Do you take them with him at all? You could try soaking in a warm bath and nursing him in there--it'll help your boob and get him in a more relaxed state and maybe want to nurse.

Jenn, Oliver and I take all of our baths and showers together but he doesn't really nurse while bathing. I have tried a couple times but he is more into the water.

I'm feeling much better! I took a hot shower while Oliver napped and when he woke up he nursed for a bit. The hardness is almost gone. It's very sore and tender to the touch. Thank you OLIVER!

Resi- I asked my BFF Angie- and she is training to be a LLL leader, and has nursed her now 3 year old, and her 7 month old... and here is her response- She is who I trust more than anyone with BFing...
the same thing the other girl suggested...a warm shower and lot of massage. The best thing to do too is to massage the clogged duct WHILE nursing. And she may have to play around with different positions. I have heard that having the babies nose pointing toward the clogged duct is the best position...so she may need to try either football hold, or even dangling over him I have heard!

Good luck!!! Hope it helps!!!

Thanks, Anna! That is just what I did while nursing him. After that it seemed to improve a lot. It's still very sore today but the hard part is gone.

I'm glad you're feeling better today, Resi. Definitely a clogged duct. I've had a few continue to feel sore and bruised for a few days after the clog has cleared & I've had some that felt better immediately.

Eeek! I had that happen once but it wasn't quite as bad as what you are describing, definitely a clogged duct though. I massaged the hard spot while nursing and that helped. Breastfeeding is so painful sometimes lol!

Ugh! I got soooooo many clogged duct's and I'd always get Milk blister's with them too. The only thing that helped mine go away was pumping...Glad you feel better though.
