Feel connected to the girls in your DDC/Playroom?

I never really did. Just wondering if it's just me and next time I might have a good chance of it or if no one really does.

I never really did. I've lurked & read a lot more since Kirsty came along but to be honest, UK Mummies has become my "home" now. I still pop in here at times.

It sure is hit and miss. The first one I joined (the Jan '07DDC) was amazing!! I connected with everyone and really made some amazing friendships, ones that I still have to this day. I still go to them for advice and they take joy in Curtis' accomplishments and the things that happen in our family. My Dec '08 DDC was pretty good too. I got along with everyone and became friends with a few ladies... unfortunately I had to leave and I lost contact with most just because of the pain. The Feb '09 DDC was nice but I didn't fit in, and I'm posting more in the Jan '09 PR now and I'm just a bystander but that's alright

Not really. A few of them are very abrasive/rude.

My DDC is REALLY nice, as said Ang, we don't fight or argue. We don't have trolls or anything, its really nice. But i don't feel connected to them like I do here.

No. I never did. I still post and read the posts almost every day though. I just like it best here in WTTC Grads. I have known most of the girls in here for 1-3 years.

I LOVE my DDC. I was worried cuz Ive always heard that they can be hard bc of all the preggy hormones. But we have a great group, and I just love all the girls!

The Feb DDC is pretty OK and I enjoy it there but it's not the same as the WTTC grads. I think because there are so many more persons and it's hard to really build good relationships like we have here in the WTTC Grads.

Everyone in my DDC is very nice, but I don't feel like I've connected with anyone. However, I've only been in it a short time and it may take time to really connect with anyone. I just feel like there are SO many women in there and whenever I DO post, my post often ends up on page 2 within an hour and hardly anyone ever sees it. It's a lot of people just posting about their appointments and TONS of those questions of the days, like "what's your favorite color" and stuff like that. Those are fun from time to time, but there are tons of them posted every day... I'm sure we'll find our stride. Or I hope.

I think a few things I've noticed is that ladies like us that have been here much longer have a harder time because we often have "homes" whereas ladies that find JM because they are pregnant have a different viewpoint and their DDC's are home

I'm kind of in the middle of those two...I got pregnant while I was still posting on the main board here so it took me a really long time to feel like I fit in with the grads because you girls have all known each other for so long and I kind of just dropped in on you. But I definitely prefer posting here to my DDC

When I was pregnant, I totally didn't feel as connected to my DDC, but once we had our babies and became a PR, it is AMAZING! I mean, it's never been BAD, I just definitely can relate more to my PR pals now that we have our babies.

No, I never felt connected there and I sometimes don't feel connected here. Don't know why....I think it's me. :shuggs: Maybe because I'm not online as much as I used to be.

It's not the same as here. But it's ok at times. At first I didn't like it at all but it has been better in the last few months.

In the april DDC I post rarely, I just lurk.

If I post a topic you hardly get any response

I tend to stay here or uk mummies!!! I have the best connection in these two parts !!!

My DDC/PR with Liam was great for a while (January 2006). We always had a ton of drama though--several trolls among other things. Mostly they were a great group of girls and so funny and I had a good time but of course the drama put an end to it and I only talk to one person from there anymore.

I never lasted in Lochy's DDC. I just didn't "click" with those women and honestly didn't feel like putting in the effort to get to know anyone. I left there after only a couple months or something. Plus we thought we lost Lochy at 4 months along and I didn't want to go back after that.

I think I'll join a DDC next time and see what happens. It would be nice to have a DDC/PR to go to again, but we'll see. I spend a lot of time at Breastfeeding Past One Year and this board and I'm fine with that!
