Allergy sufferers who have BTDT with pregnancy, what did you do during allergy season to alleviate your symptoms?

I tend to experience my allergies in my eyes worst of all, which I would use Patanol to clear up. Unfortunately, I cannot use Patanol during pregnancy... I'm thinking I'm just going to have to deal and use regular ol' Visine as needed to clear all the pollen out of my eyes - but is there anything else you'd recommend?

I also used to use Flonase, which is also a no-no, so I was thinking just a plain saline spray and use my Netti Pot a few times a week as well to clear my sinuses?

Pills like Claritin and what-not have never done anything to help me, so while I know I can take Benadryl and Claritin, I'm not going to bother since I know they won't help.

Any natural remedies? I've heard the one about local honey, but I have tried for years and can't find any local honey around here... Plus, the thought of downing a Tablespoon or more of honey every day makes me a little sick.

Thanks for any help!

I suffer

I used to get sinus infections evey year, then I stopped taking meds when my nose got stuffed up and I haven't had one since! Luckily, a stuffy nose is the extent of my allergies.

I get hay fever in the late summer Aug to Sept. I have not taken anything for it in years because I hate taking any kind of meds. Luckly I don't get it that bad anymore.

I started taking turmeric capsules (2/day) last year. My allergies went from 7 or 8 out of 10 [10 being the worst] to 0 or 1 in about a week. Really! They're really inexpensive too, much cheaper than claritin (which doesn't do much for me either!) Also, on days that you have symptoms, drink a cup of yerba mate tea. Both of these will work for asthma also cause they're natural anti-inflamitories. Good luck!
