If we are still here on Good Friday we have the option to go to the San Pedro Cutud lenten rites.
What this is, is a passion play in which they reenact the crucifixion of Jesus. YES REAL PEOPLE volunteer and are ACTUALLY nailed to cross, carry it for miles, are beaten--- exactly like Jesus. Other people REALLY whip them and spit ---the whole 9 yards. People come from all over the world to watch this.
So I'm wondering if you had the opportunity to see this---would you go? And what do you think of this?
Video of it...(NOT for the weak of heart!)

oh my god... I'm sorry but you couldn't pay me enough to do that... I don't think I would go see it. But i'm not religious so... maybe that has something to do with why I say no.

I'm religious (Lutheran) but like said above you couldn't pay me enough money to go watch that...I think I'd rather do just about anything else.

Hmmm I do not have words for this. I think its wrong and very disrespectful. I don't think I could stomach watching someone being nailed to a cross... But if I were in the area I might check it out, out of curiosity.

No way. I'm not religious but I wouldn't go even if I was. I could not watch the torture of it.

No. I couldn't even watch The Passion of Christ (I think that's the name - Mel Gibson?). I don't have the stomach to watch people being beaten/tortured like that. Yes I can tolerate it to a certain extent in action movies but that's about it. To show you how weak I am, I don't watch wrestling (even though it's entertainment), boxing or any sports like that.

Not in a million years would I go to see that! I couldn't even bring myself to click on the videos, just your description of it was bad enough. I'm not very religious now but I was raised very Catholic.

I don't know. I'm very religious and I think I would have a hard time watching it, but I think that some people in this world should feel what Jesus went through for our sins.
Not trying to start a debate! Just my opinion.

I'm Christian but I don't think I would want to watch something like that.
I think it would be upsetting in a lot of ways and watching it while pregnant would be a big NO for me. (Wouldn't want to even if not preggo, but especially not while preggo.)

No, I couldn't. I had a terrible time watching The Passion of The Christ.
I somewhat understand it though. The people who participate probably feel that it's a small price to pay to experience what Jesus did in order to forgive our sins. It's twisted, don't get me wrong....but I see how it could make sense to them.

Do you think you will go? I don't know if I would go or not. I'm very much Christian but I'm not sure it would be something I could handle...

I think I saw that on National Geographic. I would not go, but I'm not religious, so going would make me feel kinda wierd... like I was just going to watch the gore factor or something, you know? Not interested. I suppose it would be a little different if I were religions and was going based on reasons related to a faith.

I'm Greek Orthodox, and pretty religious... and I would never go to see that. I couldn't even watch the videos you posted, and never saw passion of christ. No thanks! Its too much!~
So Angela, are you going to go?
