So my dream birth is a home birth. However IL state law only lets CNM do your home births, ok fine what ever. Well then I looked into finding one! There were THREE in the area. I got a hold of the group and it turns out TWO were leaving! And the third one was already full. So I found the next best thing....a birthing center at a hospital (a REAL birthing center not just the labor floored called that! LOL) and it was run by CNM. Well this group had three CNM.....they accepted my case and they were who I saw for my first prenatal appointment. Well the other day I was trying to get info on finding my doula and so I emailed the group so that I could get some recomendations. They did provide them for me and they let me know that one of the CNM left the group....but didnt' say anything else about her. Well it turns out she left to start up a HOME BIRTH practice!!! Right in my area. She is the one we had our first prenatal appointment with and so I know DH liked her!!!!! I shot her an email (found her new practice on line) and asked if she remembered me and would take me. I haven't hear back yet (I emailed about 40 min ago LOL). BUT I AM SO FREAKIN EXCITED I MIGHT GET MY HOME BIRTH!!!!!!!!
Oh and every thing is just lining up.....she was the only one DH met, her new practice is called Gentle Birth--MY doula company was called Gentle Birth Doula Services,.....thats got to be a sign right!
Oh guys I can't even tell you how happy this would make me, I'm crying just at the thought I may get what I wanted for this special day! So Please send me all the good vibes/prayers/whatever my way-----I NEED HER TO TAKE ME!!!!!!
I can't sleep because I'm just hitting the refresh button on my email account every two minutes! LOL

SHE SAID YES! I AM GETTING MY HOME BIRTH  in shear joy! I am about as happy as the day I got engaged!  heck I'm on cloud 100!!!!!!!!!

Oh my goodness! It sounds like everything is really falling into place! I hope that she gets back to you quickly and is able to take you on!!! How exciting! I really hope you get your homebirth--then you can fill me in on what I need to know when I plan mine!

So exciting, fingers crossed for you over here! I had no idea it was that hard there, guess I can be glad I moved from IL to Santa Cruz, CA (home birth capitol of the US!  ) Sorry you have to go on such a wild goose chase for a home birth CNM, but here's hoping you've found the one!

Now I don't have to hit refresh, turns out that Google has a notifier......so I downloaded it and now I get a "ding" every time I get a new email! Much better

Yea Angela!!! Congrats to your home birth!!! I'm soooo excited for you!!! So will you guys move to somewhere in Chicago?
My DH is interviewing for a job in Chicago, so we might be moving there this summer after our baby comes  So we might be neighbors

Our home base is Des Plaines (western suburb of chicago). My "home" is about 5 min from O'hare airport. So close enough! LOL Have you taken your doula training yet (weren't you going to)....if you do---I'm looking for one!
