So, I got brave and decided to finally get my hair cut and dye it too. The style didn't turn out the way I wanted it, so I really don't like it, but I love the color. I've been trying to figure out what I can do to style it different but I can't really find anything that I like. I asked for chunky layers, and I think she cut the layers too short. At least it'll grow back. Chris says it doesn't look that bad but I think he's just trying to make me feel better. I took a couple pics, but I've been sick, so I look pretty crappy in them.
here is a before pic to compare...
and after...
ETA: ok, so I decided to go use my flat iron, and it actually looks decent now. Alot better I think. I tried to use it earlier after I got home from getting it cut, but I think because she had already fixed it, it wouldn't really straighten out and look good. Now I think it might be ok.

Based on what you had told me you asked for, I can see why you're disappointed, it doesn't look like how you described you wanted. BUT, I don't think it looks bad at all! You have gorgeous hair as it is... I think that with this new cut you just need to get some good product and tools and it'll look better. Get some stylying stuff that will make the chunky layers more piecy and flat iron it pulling it out... so it's really straight but has more volume. I think the bangs look really great on you, and I'm jealous b/c I have wanted sweepy bangs for so dang long... but I have this stupid cowlick and they'll never lay flat! UGH! haha. The color looks awesome... it really makes your eyes pop! Rest assured, Chris isn't lying to make you feel better... it's not as bad as you think at all... it'll just take some time getting used to the idea that it wasn't quite the cut you asked for!

The color looks really good on you!! The cut doesn't look bad at all from what i see in the pics! I have a hair appointment on April 2 and can't wait. I need it sooo badly! I think it's great that you tried something new! You are much braver than me. I'm so scared of getting a change.

Thanks girls! I'm glad it doesn't look as bad as I think to everyone else. I added another pic I just took after I used the flat iron, and it does look alot better. I'm happier now about it.

Your right it does look great after using the flat iron...I dont know if your hair is like mine but if I were to get out of the shower and dry it, no matter WHAT haircut I had it would look like hell! I have really think wavy/loose curly hair and it looks a wreck when its not straightened!
Oh, I love the color too!

I love it after the flat-iron treatment! The color really brings out your eyes, too. Very nice!

I love the color! I have been thinking about getting highlights that color but I'm really afraid I will hate them. I like your cut in the after-flatiron pic!

I love the color and it looks great in the last pic where you flat ironed it. Granted, though it appeared a bit limp in the first after photo, I thought it still looked good on you because it framed your face well. The flat-ironing does make it look more bouncy.

Looks fantastic after you flat-ironed it! How are you feeling about it today?
And seriously, what on earth would we do without flat irons? I am going to post a thread on the main board about this I think...

I think it looks great on you, both the cut and the color! I wish I had the nerve to get bangs. I've wanted to try it for a while, but I haven't had them since I was pretty young, so I don't have the nerve.
I agree, if you get some styling gunk to make it more chunky it will look even better!
