My BFF just called me and she just had her annual exam. The dr said that her cervix looks like someone took a rock to it and scrapped it! She said it was bleeding and that the dr said the pap is going to come back abnormal and she will need to go back in for more testing.. but the dr isnt sure why it looks like that. Anyone have any insight!? I've never heard of this before and my BFF is freaking out!

I haven't heard of that before---but it doesn't sound great. I have no idea, sorry.

BCP can make the cervix appear reddened. Other than that....sounds like is an inflammatory process going on....maybe from an infection, something autoimmune, allergic reaction. Hope it is nothing serious.

Sorry I should have added that she had a terrible birth experience almost 3 years ago with her son. She was in a lot of pain for weeks and months after his birth and it turned out to be an infection (I cant remember what it was) Since then she has had COUNTLESS infections, from UTIs to yeast infections. She never had 1 before he was born. Chris and I are going to see her April 22-28th.. I hope she has good news by then so that we can all just enjoy each others company..
