I'm posting this here since you all know the story. I was scheduled for Surgery March 19th.....but silly me thought the pre-op appt was March 16th at 1:30 and it was at 10 so the op was put off until March 26th with the pre-op appt at 1:30 the monday before. So Iwent in for the pre-op appt....signed all papers.....got blood work done but then I got a talk from the dr. He said that I was risking more damage and they might not even be able to find the problem, much less fix it. He advised that unless I was having problems and pain that affected my day to day life every day then he wouldn't have the surgery. He told me to think it over that night and call the next day to confirm. Well, I went ahead and go the labs and all done, thought it over and was still undecided, called a friend at the same dr's office who told me it was risking more damage and she would cancel. So I canceled the whole thing. Dr really wanted me to anyway and told me to wait and see if I had more normal periods, that the stress of everything could have played a roll in it all too. Well....I had a normal March cycle, awaiting april in like a week. So anyway.....I had to pay $221.00 at the pre-op appt, but I figured since I canceled the check would be discarded. Nope. I canceled on the 24th, the check was cashed on the 25th lol. They are gonna write me a refund for the $221....thanks goodness!

well only you know whats best for you. Im not quite sure of the whole sittuation, but sounds like your dr isnt trying to help you at all. At least you $$ got refunded!

Im glad your gonna get your money back I was be soooo peed off if I didnt!! And I definitely agree with Beth you know whats best for your body..but I dont get why your doctor would tell you soo close to the surgery that they dont think you should have it? Wasnt this a planned surgery for like 2 months now or something like that? Its odd to me, that seems like something they should have talked about with you wayyy earlier!

What a gong show! I agree that they shouldn't have waited until just before the surgery to give you all the information.

I'm glad that you're getting your money back, and I hope your period shows up on time!
