What does your baby eat daily?? I'm worried I'm not feeding Landen enough.

He wakes up around 9am then nurses at 10am then again at 12 before his nap.

after nap he eats a few bites of veggies (sweet potato or peas) then he nurse's right after but not much.

then he nurse's about 3 more times before bed.

Should I try feeding him more food or is this good???

He lost a pound since his 4 month well baby but he has grown 2in. Doctor didn't think it was a big deal but I'm just concerned. His rolls are smaller now!!! he is in the 97% in both weight and length now!!!

Here are a few pics of him

This one he is waiting to get his shots.

And this is the other day! It was the first not cold day of the year!!! He loved it!

I don't know if this will work but here is a video

Their growth slows down sooooo much once they hit 6 months! Ben has hardly gained anything since he turned 6 months, and his added activity isn't helping things. I think you are giving him enough, but you could add in another solid feeding if you wanted to. At his age, solids are more for practice than anything, he is getting most of his calories and nutrients from your milk.

Our schedule is like this:
7:00 wake and nurse
8:00 breakfast solids (usually oatmeal and a fruit, but adding in finger foods now)
9:30 nurse and nap
12:30-1ish nurse
4-4:30ish nurse
5:30-6ish solids meal (usually a meat and a veggie, now adding some finger foods)
7-7:30ish nurse for bed

and he usually nurses at least once at night, and if he doesn't (by some miracle), then he adds another nursing session sometime during the day.

Hope that helps!!

97%---yeah he's good! LOL And babies do tend to start thinning a little with more activity (crawling) and then again when they start walking. Its hard to walk with those cute chubby thighs! Sounds like your doing great and your milk is just perfect for him

Thanks for the pics!

You are feeding him enough. Solids should only given one time per day at this age. Between 7-9 months they can be given twice a day. Breastmilk should be his number source of food until 12 months. The solid babyfood is just to get him use to textures. He is doing great and anyone can see that because his is in the higher percentile.

We give Oliver a solid once per day and sometimes skip a day. He only eats about 2 oz of the homeade babyfood. He is on the lower end of the percentile. I believe around 30%.

I know I am not at this stage yet but I did nanny for a baby... you're doing fab. You would know if he wasn't getting enough as he would be fussy and *looking* for more food or milk from you.

He's a cutie!! I'd say only give him what he wants to eat, don't force it.. He will let you know when he is done.. When you breast feed, you really don't know how much he's actually eating verses the bottle.. I bet he's eating more then you actually think..

Adriana has never been a big eater when it came to breastmilk and formula. When she was on breast milk and formula, the max she would eat a day was maybe 12-16 oz's a day.. On average she would eat no more then 4 oz's a meal and that was when she was around 10 months old.. Which was good us because it saved on formula.. lol My Pediatrician has always told me I should get her to eat more, but I couldn't.. When she was done, she would not accept the bottle.. When she was born to 12 months, she was in the 50 th percentile for height, weight, and head measurements.. But at her 15 month check up, she dropped to the 25th percentile for height, weight and head measurements.. She still growing evenly but the Dr. isn't to concerned about.. He said she has a step growth pattern.. I have her 18 month check up in a few weeks and I think she's going to be in the 25ht percentile or less.. She's still wears 12 month clothes, but is slowly starting to wear 18 month clothing. I just think it's they way she grows and genetics is probably a key factor..

Alyssa is 8 months old and will barely touch any solids at all. She nurses about 8-10 times per day & the girl weighs 22 lbs. Obviously, breastmilk is enough at this point!

He's growing well!! My baby is 6+months yet but from the little experience I have and what I've read he's getting enough.

And yes, he may lose a little or not gain much but all that lovely baby fat he put on in the earlier months are to help him through these periods.

Yup, it sounds like he's getting enough. If he was still hungry he would definitely let you know. Lochlann didn't really start taking homemade baby food until he was around 7 months and didn't consistently take it until about 8 months when he liked it twice a day. He was at 50% for weight (a little more for height and don't get me started on his head!LOL) for the first 7-8 months then dropped off to 30% for weight but still on the taller side with a big noggin. But he also started crawling at 6 months and took his first steps at 8 1/2 months (full time walking at 9 months) so he was starting to be very active in that time period. Now he's 19 1/2 months and about 21 1/2 pounds but completely healthy. When they start to get more active they lose a lot of that baby fat and start thinning out some. Lochy still nurses once or twice a day but he eats solids all the time--he'll eat anything!

Those pictures are adorable and he certainly looks very healthy! I'd have no worries if I was you!

I didn't read the rest of the replies yet.. but him slimming down is normal because he is an active toddler.

Are you only feeding him those few bites of veggies besides the nursing sessions? Oliver eats breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and nurses about 4-5 times while up. Oliver is picky and turns his head to something he might have liked the day before. I'm lucky if he eats a couple bites of something for breakfast. Lunch and dinner depend on his mood and what I offer. He isn't a big eater. Usually it's a few bites and then he wants a snack an hour later. It's a struggle for me to feed him and come up with new ideas to get him to eat.

Oliver also tells me if he is hungry by saying "umm" or if I ask if he wants to eat he will say "umm".

omg... look at the date on this thing. I feel stupid for my last reply. I was thinking that Angela had to have started feeding him more than once per day.. lol
