I thought I would post a quick preggo update for ya'll. Things are going fairly well so far... my sciatica has gotten almost unbearable- it is hard to even walk down the hallway and back without feeling like I am going to fall over from the shooting pains. I am hoping that the cure for it will be pushing this baby out! Haha!

I am now going to the doc twice a week for NSTs and BP checks. My BP has been slightly elevated the past few appointments, and I gained ten pounds in a week, plus I have severe edema. They are doing bloodwork every appointment to check for the tell-tale signs of pre-e, and keeping a watch on my BP. At this morning's appt., found out I gained two pounds since Tuesday! Phew! The doc isn't overly concerned at this point, but I sure am. What else can go wonky in this pregnancy, really?! I am hoping and praying that I do not develop pre-e... I just want to have a healthy, natural delivery! So some positive thoughts/prayers/energy would be appreciated!

I am severely in nesting mode! I have washed and sorted ALL of Alice's clothes and put them in her dresser and storage containers for the bigger sizes, gotten all the last big items we needed and am in the process of setting them up, decided that our pans were too old to use anymore so we bought a new set... cleaned pretty much every surface I could find to clean, and am in the process of washing all of our clothing/bedding in Free & Clear detergent to ward off any allergy worries. Man, makes me tired to just go over what I've done so far! I am going to go through all the clothes that Mamie (DH's mother!) gave to us for Alice... which consists of a huge box and several bags full of stuff! Woohoo!

In other news... DH is having a hard time dealing with Easter this year. His father's passing is still so fresh, and his dad really loved Easter. DH started crying during the NST this morning because he was thinking about how dad won't be here to eat all the dyed eggs. Breaks my heart... so some positive energy/thoughts are needed his way as well.

Anyway, hope everyone's doing well! I will try to get some new belly pics this weekend at the Easter get-together. Happy Easter to all of you!

I was just thinking about you yesterday, wondering how you are. It's nice to hear from you. I hope your back eases up. Will it interfere with labour/delivery?

I'm sorry to hear DH is finding this time difficult, I can't begin to imagine how much he misses his dad

I'm glad you and Alice are doing well. Man, I'm tired after reading everything you've done! But I'm glad everything will be taken care of before little Alice gets here.

I'm sorry your DH is having such a hard time... I'm sure Sunday will be difficult, but I hope you manage to have a good time.

Looking forward to seeing pics!

Sorry about the sciatica, I know it really sucks! I am so scared about that when I get pregnant because I have it now. I hope it goes away when you give birth!

I wish you guys the best over this holiday, I can't wait to see little Miss Alice!

Hey Lauren - so good to hear an updated from you. I hear you on the back thing- that's what the doc thinks is up with my back pain....I can't believe you've done all those things with that kind of pain.....if mine gets worse toward the end I will NEVER be able to do all that you've done - that's incredible - you go girl!

I hope that you BP stays low - I have chronic hypertension so I was doing NST's and all that with DS and at 36 weeks they decided to induce since it got too high....so I know the feeling of waiting for each appt to see if its going to behave or not. However, I had a nice birth despite being induced with blood pressure issues so don't get too worried...it'll all go how its suppose to go!

I'm so sorry your DH is having a hard time - I can't even imagine how sad it must be for him. Prayers are with him Won't be long and Alice will be here - oh its so exciting!

Glad all is well! It's getting so close now!

Hugs to your DH! Tomorrow is the 13th anniversary of my father's passing. Easter is always a rough time for my sister and I! Please remind him that he's not alone!

So I had a whole long response typed out but the internets eated it. BOO! I will just give ya the condensed version.

Easter went better than I thought it would... we did miss dad of course. But all in all we had a good time together as family.

And I think Alice will be here soon! I lost my plug the other day I think... and I have been having some contracting on and off along with lots of discharge and such. So she is sooo ready to come!

Glad to hear an update!! I'm so glad Alice has stayed put for so long! It's getting soooo close now to seeing her!

I understand what you're going through with his dad passing away. My DH's dad passed away a few years ago and there are certain times of the year it's just so hard on him!
