I am still adding things to my hospital bag. I need to pack something for me to wear home. At full term I really only have two "nice enough to wear in public" shirts and one pair of pants that are comfy. I was a skinny bgitch before I got preggo , but I have no idea how much belly I will lose by having the baby. Can any of you give me an idea of how much belly you lost so I can figure out what size clothes to pack?

Most people, myself included, always look about 5-6 months after having baby. Whatever fit you then should be good. what I did though, was went into the mens section (Im 5'11 and !#$#Q% lbs) I got a mens XL shirt and Jammie pants, that way I knew without a doubt they would fit. I still wear that set to this day - almost 4 years later

Here is my belly as we were leaving the hospital! I wore a regular t-shirt (stretchy one) and cotton gaucho pants.

Beth is correct! I looked about 5 months pregnant after. I took a maxi dress to wear home. It worked beautifully.

Mine was like Breanna's belly. I just wore my maternity clothes home. But the jeans I got are during and after pants. They have a tight cloth band that can go up over your belly which is really nice cause it hugs all the left over belly in nice and tight.

I just wore maternity yoga type pants home with both the boys and one of Ian's t-shirts. I still had some belly by the time we left and there was no way I was fitting into regular clothes that soon! I actually never did fit back into my pre-preg clothes after Liam but after Loch I was back in them 2 weeks pp.

I'm one of those "skinny bizatches" too - so I lost alot of belly just having the baby. I wore a paire of comfy pants - like work out pants home (not maternity) and a maternity top that I wore earlier in the pregnancy that wasn't real huge. I wore a regular cotton t-shirt to his 2 day check up at the doctor - I remember all the nurses giving me grief because I was so small already! Here is a picture of me just being leaving the hopsital with Harrison:
I'll probably pack a loose fitting regular top again and a pair of comfy pants again - like lounge around pants - even pajama pants - nobody sees you as you leave the hopsital and go home - unless you're having like alot of people over right when you get home?

I wore a nursing shirt and Gaucho pants. I lost my belly right away but had alot of "fat" still. This was a med shirt which is the size I normally wear and It was a lil tight...

I wore jogging trousers home in one size up from my pre-pregnant size. Just keep in mind (sorry to say this!!!), if you happen to have a c/s, you will need something loose so as not to irritate a wound.

I looked AWFUL after having Oliver. I was so swollen and puffy. I took a pair of cotton lounge pants and a maternity t-shirt. I believe the cotton pants were a size bigger than I wore before getting pregnant.
About 80% of what I packed I did not use.

Yeah I didn't have a pregnant looking belly, but you'll be surprised how *loose* your belly will feel and look afterwards. All that extra skin that stretched for your baby now is just there--it gets better though.
Just don't forget your camera! We forgot ours when we had Liam and we were sure I could hold out til the gift shop opened at 10am but he wasn't wasting any time--he was born at 9:49am. So we have no immediate shots of him.

I would call myself "skinny" but I definitely still looked pregnant for at least the first week PP. I didn't fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes until I was probably 3 1/2-4 months PP.
And don't worry about how your belly looks at first! I was kind of freaked out because it's all saggy and empty, but it goes away!

Thanks everyone. I think I'm going to pack some stretchy yoga pants and a couple t-shirts. Sounds like going with comfy things is a must.
Dh has said several times that he bets I'll be back to my skinny self right away but I've told him not to get his hopes up! I know my belly may still be saggy for a little while.

Everyone is different Shannon on how quickly their body goes back to normal - alot of it is genetics etc. and you won't know till you get there, its like stretch marks...some get em, some don't....heck, I have no idea if my body will react the same after I have this baby as it did after I had DS....??? ....but yes comfy is a must!!!
