Well I got to meet with my m/w today. Everything is looking good. HR is 140-150's, measuring perfectly, BP perfect.....My hubby asked his newest page full of questions and she sat there and happily answered them all (it was like 1 hr and 15 min again LOL). I think she rocks!
She will do 36.5 to 43! weeks home birth! (most only do 37-42 weeks). She is thinking about doing first time mom breeches at home (she ok with BTDT moms doing breech but not sure on first timers). The 3 apprentinces she has are ALL doulas AND even trained lay midwives! (lay midwives can't delivery on their own in IL so their only options is to be apprentices). So I don't need a doula because one comes with her! (saving me $1200!--think of the cloth diapers and slings I can get with that! LOL She gave me the response that I wanted for everything but two things (breech and first time moms and GD testing). She does want me to do the GD test even though I'm low risk (ADA says no testing if no risk factors) but she says my age puts me in a risk factor group (I'm iffy on that-but since relooked it up and sure enough ADA dropped the age ). But I don't have to do the drink--I get to just eat 50grms of sugar in JELLY BEANS! Ok I can do a jelly bean test! LOL
I will call tomorrow to get my chiropractor appointments going and to schedule my u/s!!!! I will update when I have dates.

Updated!-----u/s on monday at 4pm!

Wow, she sounds amazing!

I would like to decline the GD test next time around as well (I really strongly feel that it will never be an issue for me), but the jellybeans do sound like a better option The drink made me feel really nauseous.

That's awesome that you had a great appointment.. It's a good idea to take the test.. Because you never know when the diabetes can show it's ugly head. It can affect people with no risk factors.. I was lucky this pregnancy, I don't have to do a GTT test, I just had to do a A1C test. So much easier.. Which I passed btw.. But I'm monitoring my blood sugars four times a day and I'm on insulin NPH at night for my FBS.. fun fun fun..

Lucky you on the jelly beans!!

I was only 19 when I was diagnosed with GD with Seamus, but my dad, his sister(hers was GD turned type2 after birth) and my dad's mom all have diabetes and I was about 30lbs over weight so I was at risk cause family history and weight not age though.

Angela - that all sounds great - especially the money saving thing... CD's and slings - you are too funny. I love how your DH is so into it too with all his questions - that is super cute .

Having GD both times - and being a woman with NO risk factors other than the fact that I have chronic hyper tension....I would be very cautious about declining something like that. I never had problems with my sugars before DS...ended up having some problems after DS was born but never before I actually had GD. Drinking the drink or whatever is a small price to pay for all the things that could go wrong if your body and hormones went whack and you ended up with GD. I didn' thave to do the drink for this baby - just started testing my sugars early and found they were creeping....so we started treatment. Just my thoughts....but sounds like you get out of the drink so that is good....I really didn't mind it - even the three hour drink wasn't that bad....we endure much more strive than that carrying these babies around!

Sounds like a really great appointment!!! I only had to drink orange juice for my GD testing with Loch--it was so great not to have to drink that nasty drink!

So are you still not finding out gender? You're a stronger woman than me, my curiosity would be killing me!
