Does this look ok for 2weeks 1day after a c-section.

My mom thinks it looks fine and so does her friend (friend had 2 sections) but I'm not sure. I'm allergic to most adhesive tapes and where the big red section is a piece of the steri strip came off the other night after a shower so is it most likely just a reaction from that? or is it normal? Doc said I could let the steri strips come off on their own.

((found out about allergy after birth controll patch when I was 15 the square from the patch stayed for over a week, and when I have the clear plastic tape they usually use I get a rash from it too but it goes away after a few hours if I only have the tape on for an hour or so))

I just left a note on your Facebook page about it! LOL It COULD be a tape reaction but you can see the spot the tape was and thats the lightest spot. I think it looks a tad infected or pre-infection. I can't tell in the picture but is that one red spot opening up? If so you should go get it looked at. I'm allergic to tape adhesive also but steri strips I have never had an issue with (its a different type of adhesive them most) When is your next time seeing the doctor (peds or your OB)?

I just saw the OB last Friday, and don't go again till the 8th of May. Kieran has a pedi appt tomorrow(friday) am though.

My whole scar looks like that red spot.

I think it looks a little irritated. I had mine checked out a couple times when I thought it looked bad. Both times the cleaned it up and put new steri strips on it. One time they gave me an antibiotic to be safe.

I can only say what mine looked like and I had my staples and steri tape off by two weeks and all there was was a raised up thin purple line...so compared to MINE I'd say it looks irritated and might want to have it checked out but I really am no expert obviously.

That was my advice too - the first c-section I was fine, kinda itchy, but my 2nd OMG I broke out in these rashes all over the place down there. I went to the dr about a month after having Morgan and my OB is like "Bethy, hunny, next time it does that - take them off" as he's laughing - it cleared up the next day. I would say though, with it being that red, Id go pop into your OB and see what s/he says...vitamin E might help too...

Had Kieran's pedi look at it today she called over to my OB's and they had me come in, its just basically where one side of the skin when up and one went down(he said picture a stair) and alittle of the inside poped out but its not an issue and should heal just fine.

Like Resi, I think it looks a bit irritated. Mine never look like that but I didn't have tape when I came home. It could be a reaction to the tape.
