*sigh* ... and still not pregnant. I'm begining to wonder if there are any fertility issues with me or DF. The good news is that when DF and I get married in July, I can get on his health insurance, which is apparently so awesome that they cover fertility treatments (90% I think), including IVF, if it comes to that. I really, really hope it doesn't come to that, though.

If we aren't pregnant by the time we are married, I think we will be going to the doc, as much as I hate that. I know that I haven't been ttc long compared to some other ladies, but I can't help it, I'm starting to feel a bit hopeless. I don't ever even bother to hope to see that second line anymore because I think it is pointless... I know it won't be there.

Maybe it's hormones, maybe I'm just way burned out.

*HUG* I think it might be a good idea to see the doc. They can run simple tests, just to see what's going on. But hopefully for you you'll have that BFP right around the corner.

Get hormone levels checked, no matter how long you've been trying. I was really pushed not to see a doc and the truth was that I knew something was wrong (and hello.. I was right)

I also really had to push and find a doc that was progressive. I'm now on cycle 18, seriously, and it took 17 cycles for someone to finally put me on progesterone. Clomid and other fertility meds really should wait at least a year, but something like progesterone, thyroid issues or other things that mess with fertility should be checked because they mess with your over all health. High estrogen (what I have) can cause higher rates of cancer and messes up LP's.

I think you should get a reg check up with the gynecologist, get hormone levels checked, and you TELL THEM what you want run, including all the thyroid panels (not just one), progesterone, oestrogen and others

to Lauren's advice----many tests aren't "fertility" check test and can be normal checks with your yearly or even if your just in feeling under the weather....its somewhere to start at least.

Thanks for the advice. I was wondering, if I get the hormone checks done now as just a "regular checkup", and something comes up that causes fertility problems, then in July I get on DF's insurance (when we are married), would it be considered a pre-existing condition? DF asked and they said they have a don't ask, don't tell policy when it comes to pre-existing conditions, but I don't want to risk it just in case.

No, its not really a condition or anything to have low or "off hormones" because they can get out of whack at any time. Even if they find PCOS or something, I dont think they can consider that a prexisting

Prexisting I think is typically defined as something that has been treated, and actually treated, before you begin your new insurance. It has to have been under treatment for the last 6 months

Diabetes is prexisting, as is cancer as those would have been in active current treatment.

I found this as well somewhere else, have no idea how accurate

"Here's a quick note on pre-existing conditions. There is a relatively new law called HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). Part of this act is that if you've had continuous coverage for 18 months, you can not be denied coverage based on the pre-existing condition clause. So, if you've had continuous medical coverage for 18 months with no more than a 60 day lapse in coverage, you will be covered. "

TTC can be such a rough journey! Sometimes they're issues and sometimes they're none. I hope you get your BFP but seeing a doc can help you know whether sometimes off or not. (((HUGS)))

I completely understand how frustrating it is!! I'm on cycle 5 and know there are people who have been trying so much longer but it's still so discouraging when you're timing things perfectly month after month and nothing's happening. Hang in there sweetie! At least if it comes down to it, your DH's insurance will help you out a bunch. That's encouraging since a lot do not (from what i've heard).
