We decided to have a San Antonio riverwalk wedding, so we went down to San Antonio this weekend to check out venues. I think we have pretty much come to a decision!
The night before the ceremony, we will rent out Craig Place Inn (bed and breakfast):
We will stay in the "Happily Ever After" room:
We will have a lovely 3 course breakfast the morning of the wedding. At 2pm, we will have the ceremony on the poperty outside, if the weather is nice (obviously none of the people in the following pics are me or anyone I know, just pics from their website):
Or inside, if it rains, in front of their fireplace lined with candles:
They specialize in small weddings. The most people they can fit is 25, which is perfect for what we want. They will take care of everything for a very reasonable price, including flowers, cake, decorations... everything! Here is the cake, we just pick our flower colors and filling:
After the ceremony, we will mingle, toast, and have heavy orderves until 4pm. We will then head out to the riverwalk downtown. At around 6pm, we will all meet at Boudros, which is in downtown San Antonio on the riverwalk. (Boudros is a restaurant that has private event areas.) Guests will enter through their courtyard:
We will probably have a cocktail hour until about 7pm either in the courtyard or an inside area which I don't have pics of. Then we will have dinner in one of two private areas (haven't made my mind up yet which one). It will either be their wine cellar, which is a real wine cellar and therefore nice and cool, which would be good because it will be a hot July day in Texas:
Or in their "Volume II" room:
Afterwards we might have after dinner drinks on a river boat, or we will just party along the riverwalk. Then we will head to a room in a riverwalk hotel.
For those of you who don't know what the riverwalk is... it is an area one story below downtown San Antonio that runs along the river. It is for pedestrians, and is lined with restaurants, bars, hotels, etc. Here's a pic at night:
I'm so excited! Even DF, who never gets excited, is pretty pumped up after seeing it all yesterday.
