Is it REALLY Thursday already?
Henry Edison is here.  After almost 19 hrs of labor, he came at 6:52pm. He's 7 lbs, 13 oz, and 20 in long. I never imagined how incredibly perfect he would be. I just want to stare at him all day!
He certainly has a little personality already! He hates to be changed and cries so much when you unswaddle him. DH has become the designated diaper changer since he can do it so much faster than me lol. I guess I'm too delicate with his umbilical cord and circumcision area. I'm trying my hardest to breastfeed but he only latches on for a short while. So for the time being we are using some formula between his little latching sessions. I've got a pump that I'll be trying soon as well. I had a 2nd degree tear which has left me extremely sore. I'm still sleeping on the ice packs the hospital gave me. And I'm having a hard time emotionally. I understand it's completely normal, but it doesn't make it any better. I find myself actually missing pregnancy. My family and friends are very encouraging, so hopefully this depression will be very temporary for me.

awwww, look how cute!!!! I love his lil double chin already!! Aren't those ice packs the best! I had a 2nd degree tear too. My doc said it's normal. But those pack's make it so much better! haha....I know what you mean about feeling down. Get help from DH. I wish I would have, it will make you feel better! Have him do some of the middle of the night feeding's, you still need your rest from time to time!

Mom to Seamus (7.18.06) and Kieran 4.8.09). Seamus has Aspergers, SPD, Lazy Eye and is also Color Deficient/Blind, basically he doesnt' see green or red. I'm still learning more but feel free to ask me about it if you have any questions!

I cant belive he is here already!! He is perfect I love the picture with him sleeping on your husbands chest. So cute. And I think I like the idea of DH being the designated diaper changer. I will try that with mine, haha.

He's gorgeous! Congratulations!! And I was an emotional mess the first few days, sometimes crying tears of joy, other times crying because I was sad about something. It got better once I started feeling better physically.

I used dermoplast spray down there for my tear and motrin for pain. I have had some baby blues too but it is getting better so hang in there momma you are doing great!

What you are feeling right now is completely normal. I missed being pregnant, I questioned having a baby, I wished I could go back in time and have it "easy" again....you will adjust. If you are still having a hard time in a couple of weeks, talk to a doctor. For me, it did pass. You're doing a great job and don't feel guilty. It's REALLY HARD to have a newborn, but you are an amazing mom!
