I'm not sure if I posted about this in here or just my DDC but my nephew (who is 7 months old) is getting a liver transplant tonight!! Please keep him and my family in your thoughts and prayers  We are very excited and nervous at the same time! I will post updates when I get home - I will be in St Louis for a few days but keep him in your prayers!

Lots of prayers for him and your family!!! I do a fair amount of liver tx's at work; it's one of my favorite cases. What's your nephews name for more specific prayers, if you don't mind my asking?

Well, it turns out that when they tried to split the liver (he is only 7 months old, so they were attempting to use a 17 year old's liver - and only use half) that they couldn't properly split the organ so my sister and her family are heading home today to wait for another call. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers And Nikki, for future prayers (because we would love for you to continue to pray) his name is Malakai

He's still really small (7 months old and weighs a little over 11 lbs) but he's doin' ok right now. Still waiting on another call, hoping it's soon!!!

My cousin had a liver transplant when she was only a few months old as well. (She is now 14 and thriving!) I know how horrible that wait can be! I'll be thinking of you all and hoping that they get a call soon!
