I tested this morning and it was another I know i'm out now, not only because of that but i can feel that AF is coming. So i'm moving onto cycle 6. I never thought it would take this long. I'm very aware that a lot of people have been trying much longer than this, but it's so hard to not feel discouraged. TCOYF says if you're not pregnant after charting and timing BD right after 4-6 months there may be a problem and suggests to go get tests. I'm not ready to do that, but it concerns me that it would even suggest it after only this long. I've been charting since cycle 1 and we've timed BD perfectly every month. To be honest, i guess i'm hoping some of you will tell me it took a while for you too even after timing things great.

I do have a "somewhat" plan for next cycle. We've BD a lot every month with no success so i plan to wait until i get fertile CM and then start BDing like TCOYF suggests.

Anyway~ How many cycles did it take you and how many of those cycles were you charting?

P.S. Don't pay attention to my temps.. they're all over the place because i was sick a lot of this cycle.

Thanks

I'm sorry Krista. I can imagine how very frustrating it is. When we were trying, it seemed like all of my friends got preggo with one try. Even though I knew that was not the 'norm', it still was frustrating. It took us 3 cycles. On the first 2, we BD'd ALL the time- sometimes 20 days in a row with no luck. The month I got pregnant, I was out of the country and flew home for an impromptu visit for 1 wk during my fertile time. It ended up that we BD'd the 4 days before o'ing, twice on the day of, and the two days after... nothing before or after those 7 days. I thought there was no way and was shocked when it worked. I hope the same thing works for you too and month six is the lucky cycle!

We never started ttc. I guess you can say I was trying and my DH was being more caustious. We always had sex during my ovulation time. I charted for a year. DH always pulled out but the time we got pregnant he didn't pull out fast enough.

I know there are a few others on wttc grads that ttc for several months before getting pregnant. Hang in there. I'm sure yours will be coming very soon.

It took me technically 2 cycles to become pregnant. We started NTNP in February and I thought we got every spot on but nothing. DH was away around ovulation in March and was studying for a course in April so those 2 cycles were out and then in May, when I least expected it (we hadn't been DTD as much as Feb) I became pregnant.

There are quite a few ladies who I'm sure will post later and tell you that it took them longer than they had anticipated to become pregnant naturally. Hang in there!

Try to have fun with trying and mix those sessions (mornings, afternoons...) if you aren't doing so already.

The first time I got pregnant it only took 2 cycles, but I had a miscarriage. After that it took us a year. I still don't know what was really wrong, I was ovulating each month and Dh checked out okay, so unexplained infertility. The cycle I got pregnant, I took Clomid, had an HSG (sometimes that can clear out your tubes) and did acupuncture. It's very discouraging I know, I thought it was never going to happen for me. The good news is I think there are plenty of women who take 6 cycles or longer that are completely normal. And if not there is so much they can do now in terms of med assistance.
Hang in there and IF it comes to testing, you do it whenever you feel right about it.

On cycle 18 and my story is alot like Shannons. We got pregnant on cycle 2 and miscarried and its now been over a year. Clint's Sperm Analysis came back great, my eggs are fine and they even believe I probably ovulate on my own and are just helping me to boost that ovulation. We used pre-seed, temped perfectly, did it at the right time, elevated hips, stood on my head pretty much. Used every rule out there-- not temping, not caring, caring alot, holding someone else's baby, prayer, sex after miscarriage, spontaneous sex... nothing

I almost made this exact same post at the end of my last cycle. I couldn't have put it into words better myself! I went to read the ttc 6 months plus success stories instead, which didn't help much because most of them needed medical assistance.

Well Curtis was a surprise while I was on Alesse. I got pregnant 2 cycles, but miscarried and then got pregnant with Dustin after 1 full cycle.

I hope it happens soon for you!

Ryan was within 3 months and Chloe took about 4 years, although Chloe took 4 years we never took ourselves to the docs for testing or anything, we think it was down to timing as we didn't realise I am a late ovulater

I'm sorry that it's not happening quickly

It took us 5 cycles. I really think that I got pregnant that 5th cycle because it was the only one where I had QUALITY CM. I went to the bathroom, so a GOB of EWCM, and we BD like 10 mins later. All other cycles, I barely had any CM, if any at all. I think for us, it was just that relatively "small" issue, but who really knows.

DH and I never used protection for the 2 years prior to getting pregnant with Ian - I think it had to do with me not having a same cycle day period. With Morgan it took us 6 months of NTNP even then I didnt think Id get pregnant so quick. This time around I am a month into TTC, no AF, no ovulation signs - I also am coming off of the mirena IUD that I had in for 2+ years. Dont worry - it will happen for you!!!!

Let's see - I had 4 periods each time I tried to get pregnant from the time we started trying until I was preggo. I have PCOS so I have long irregular cycles/ovulation. With DS my DH came back from deployment at the end of January....we just never went back to protection and just DTD all the time....I didn't know about charting and tracking and all that. I had a period in February and then had one induced with provera in April...had one in May that I believe was a very early miscarriage (cause I took a home test with a very light positive but then got my period like three days later) and one in early June....then in July I still hadn't gotten a period again by the end of the month and I kept testing...but the middle of August I still hadn't had my period so I took one last test (negative) and went to the doc.....she did a blood test and tada! preggo with my son! Totally a surprise to us!

With this one I was charting from March on and I got pregnant in October - we timed it right pretty much every time because I was using OPK's (cm is not a good indicator for me). I had a period in June (my first period after the pill I stopped in March)...July...August...September....then BFP in October with only ONE Bd session right before ovulation. We were actually deciding not to try until after the first of the year because of our June vacation....opps! We were also fighting and we had one night of make-up sex! For us, both times we got pregnant were not expected so I'm a believer in "when you least expect it!"

I know your time will come! An easy test is to test the DH - an SA - that at least rules out that as a problem especially if your not preggo and you are ovulating and having a seeminingly normal cycle. You could ask your doc about that at least for now? Good luck girl!
