I had my 4week PP check (my ob likes to do c-sections at 4weeks I guess) and things are looking ok, he still wants me to watch the part that bubbled and popped out, and I'm still bleeding in a small corner of the incision. He told me the side that has the stitches tied sometimes doesn't close all the way when the stitches fall out and thats what happened so just a small spot is still opened. I have thrush in my nipple, well what we think is, he doesn't want to test it because he said that requires scraping a sample out of the nipple and he doesn't want to cause more pain so he put me on a pill I take today then again in 3days if it doesn't work I take it again in 3more days and then once more in 3 days if needed.

I go back on the 22nd and get ParaGaurd(sp?) put in

I also had to take Kieran to her pedi today because lactation at the hospital said if I'm being treated for thrush she needs to also. The Nurse Practitioner we saw checked her out and I guess she's got thrush on her bum that we didn't notice, I just thought it looked like the begining of a small diaper rash but its actually thrush. As of right now we dont see any in her mouth but we are treating her for it just in case. I've got to put her meds on me too so we can kill it faster and not spread it back and forth.
She only weighs 6lbs 12oz today so only a 2oz gain sense Monday but the NP said that she looks ok, we'll find out more on Monday at her weight check, hopefully she will be over 7lbs then.

Glad she is still gaining and hopefully she will be at that 7 lb mark next week!

This may be TMI but what does the nipple thrush look like? And the bum thrush? Matthew has a diaper rash but how do you know it's just diaper rash and not thrush?

its a white flakey yeast thing - its gross - the roof of the babies mouth gets covered as well as the tongue. Its just a yeast infection but of the mouth and mom and baby can pass it back and forth thru breastfeeding.

Yep like Beth said its white, right now Kierans bum is just really red (little worse since yesterday) and now her tongue is white. Some times its hard to tell with the white in the mouth cause it can look like milk some times, with the nipple at least with mine its a white almost blister looking thing, and its bleeding too, and its super painful to me I scream(or try to hold it) when she first starts nursing off that side. Lactation said it can be painful in an infants mouth too
