Has anyone used Mylicon drops for their baby? Any gas issues?

Henry has had horrible gas pains for like a week now. I feed him about 6 oz a day of the breast milk I pump.He was on the Original Similac formula, but now I supplement with Isomil soy formula. I don't eat gassy veggies, chocolate, or caffeine. He uses a slow flowing nipple and we burp him often. But he still gets these bad gas pains. It just kills me when it happens because he has this cry that just screams HELP ME.

He has his 2 week appt. today and I will ask again what to do.

I think almost ALL babies deal with a lot of gas. I know Oliver did. I would try to work it out of him by moving his legs like a bicycle, laying his belly on my forearms, or laying him on on my knees. I think it's their digestive system getting use to taking in the milk. It gets better with time. At about 3 months Oliver was a pro at working it out on his own. I remember when he was little he would wake up every morning tooting up a storm but he was doing better because he could get it out without getting really upset.

kirsty suffered terrible with colic, it started at 3 weeks and she's recently settled down. not sure if you get it there but we use infacol drops... they make her pump allllllll day but they take a day or so to kick in.

Conner never had consistently bad gas but we had a few days here and there that we did use the drops because he seemed so uncomfortable. We gave him the drops and then would lay him on our laps and rub his tummy. It did seem to help him a bit. Now he's pretty much on his own because I can't get him to sit still long enough

Amara was extremely gassy though she wasn't diagnosed with colic. I used Infacol which worked great but the orange flavor seemed to cause her eczema to flare up so I had to stop that and use Ovol. Ovol works ok.

I've not tried the drops you asked about but they were a popular choice in my DDC for gas.

Is it possible that a type of formula could make a baby gassy? I've never used formula so I'm not sure but perhaps you could ask about that.

Harrison was very gassy - he would scrunch up his whole body and I could feel that he was scrunching his stomach and he made this noise like a terydactyl, not alot of crying I could just tell he was uncomfortable .....I used Mylicon alot...but everything changed dramatically when I stopped BF'ing and gave him Enfamil Gentlease formula....it was like magic and he was never happier!

Good luck!

Alexa was super gassy around 2-4 wks, thats when their system is getting used to digestion and all. I never used any drops... it works its way out. And Alexa is much much better now. Even her amount of poop diapers are different.... at 2-4 wks she would have 6 or so a day, now we have 1-2 bigger ones a day.

Huggs Morgan- it will get better!

The first formula he was one was a lactose base. Since using the soy formula, it's calmed down alot.

The doctor said that it could take another few days for the lactose to work out of his system. He approved the drops so I will start using those and hope they help. I am just such a wimp when he cries in pain like that!

Matthew has had some. I gave him Mylicon drops last night as a precaution since I wondered if that was part of the crying at night issue.

Cambria was very gassy at first. I would change what I ate but still nothing would help her. I would put gas drops in her milk, breast or formula. I use Mylicon and Little tummies.
