How long did it last for you? I'm still having some and I read that it shouldn't still be red bleeding (it is). But I called my Dr's office and the nurse said it is okay as long as it's not heavy and constant, which it's not. She said to give it another week or two and call again if it hasn't stopped.

Mine last just a couple days after I got home from the hospital. I was shocked at the lack of bleeding I had once I got home.....I had blankets on all the furniture and everything - all for nought! But I'm a light bleeder at all times anyway - so maybe that's what my deal was. I think you should be okay as long as you are keeping posted with the OB office.....they deal with this stuff all the time. If its not super heavy and you're not feeling sick/light headed or like you're losing too much blood then you probably are okay. Keep us posted though.

With both boys I bled heavily for the 1st 2-3 weeks, light bleeding for another week, and then spotted until around 6 weeks. With Alyssa, I only spotted, even in the hospital!
I was told that once the blood turned brown, if it then reverted back to red, it means you're doing too much and you should climb into bed with baby for a day or 2 to just rest.

Oh geeze, I think I bled on and off until about 8 weeks PP. It was heavy at first (obviously), then turned brown and almost stopped, and then started back red again, then almost stopped, then red....it was weird.

Bled for 4.5weeks with Seamus it was reddish brown, then stopped then started again at 6.5weeks(night of our wedding ) and that was severly heavy it was soaking through pads in 15minutes the doctors freaked but we couldnt' find out why.
I'm now 4weeks 5days out of the c-section and I'm still bleeding, off and on, stopped heavily bleeding last week, but the bleeding I'm having right now is still red.

I remember it lasting for awhile. I think it finally stopped right before my 6 week pp check-up. It was red, then brown, then red again. I was only told it was a problem if there was a foul odor.

It's hard to remember. I think it was about 4-6 weeks at least until it stopped all together. I never bled to much.

mine stopped just before my 6wk pp check. it was heavy for about a week after the birth, then spotting but enough to warrant a pad, it changed from red to brown to red a lot and i was pretty much nursing all day so i couldnt say i was doing too much.

oh Helen reminded me... BF can cause your bleeding to "gush" out a bit immediately after BFing. It's cos it helps the uterus contract.

I noticed this happens with me a lot, I get flow after I've BFed.
I'm not doing much either, the only thing other than nursing is walking down the street to the mailbox each day...but that helps my sanity!
