So me and SIL started a baby gift registry at Diaper-eez - a store near where we live. It was kinda awesome actually, we got a full demo of many different types of cloth diapers - different folds, twists, fabrics, covers etc. We decided that Bum Genius diapers look pretty awesome and she registered for 24 of them. I doubt that I will be getting hers as handme downs since i think her babe will still be using them by the time i have one i hope. anyways was there anything you ladies had wished you put on your registry that you didnt? or some things you got from your registry that you were so happy you registered for?

ps. my SIL lives with me and is about 4 mos along. she's not with the father of her baby so we joke that i'm like her life partner when it comes to her baby! lol cause it so doesnt take any convincing to get me into the baby stuff! teehee!

I think you should pick a variety of different brands to start with. If you have all the same kind and they don't work you will be stuck and have to buy a lot more. I have the Bum Genius and I don't care for them at all. They are the very last diaper I will grab for. They always leak on me. Other people love them.

I'm *planning* on getting a combo of Bum Genius One Size diapers and Fuzzy Bunz One Size Diapers, plus a couple of other random diapers that I found with really cute patterns. We definitely want to use the all-in-one type of diapers (my DH would never ever ever in a million years agree to use a pre-fold, so that simply isn't an option for us) and I'm going with the one-size so that I don't have to buy a ton of different size diapers. I decided to go with half BG and half FB since I've heard great things about both and will hopefully love at least one of them (and preferably both). Also, since I've heard the one size diapers aren't a great fit for newborns, I've decided to get a dozen kissaluvs fitted diapers with a few thirsties covers, since those seem to be the favorite of many moms of newborns on the Cloth Diapering forum.

Also, make sure you buy some cloth diaper friendly diaper cream!! Most of the common brands aren't good for cloth... Oh, and you'll need a pail/pail liner and maybe a wet bag or travel bag. There is also a sprayer attachment you can buy that hooks up to your toilet so you can spray off any poo - but that's an optional thing.
