So My crib was recalled and now have to get a new one. Which since I have a hard time putting Cambria In It might be a good thing for me. Well I went Into Babies R Us today to see what kinda I can maybe get. I still have a few weeks before I can get a Voucher to go buy one but I thought I'd just take a look. Well They pretty much have NOTHING! And since I have Black Furniture I have to get a black Crib. Well they only had 1 black crib and It was huge, twice the size of what I have now so there's no way that would work! There's a couple online that might work so I'd just have to order there. BUT I talked to a girl who worked there and she said she think's that I can only get a Jardine crib. The problem is they Pulled ALL of the Jardine's AND they dont expect them to get a shipment in the next 6 months. My voucher is only good for 6 Months! So I have to gte one before then. How is that possiable!!! The only thing I can do Is buy another color and then her room will look stupid cause I have a black dresser and a white crib or I can get a white crib and sand the crap and paint my dresser white ( from black, I dont even know where to begain!) or just get another colored crib and use that until it turns into a toddler bed and then just use the dresser thats black for our next baby but we'll have to buy a new dresser for Cambria eventully. They do have toddler bed's I can buy but there less then $100 and the voucher is for $350. And they dont give you the money back and you can't use it for something else. So I'd waste all that money...Oh ya and they wont return my Rails I bought to convert the bed. That's $70 lost! It's not my fault you made a faulty crib, why do I need to pay for It!!! Soooo annoyed right now!

oh snap! Hunny!!! Im soooo sorry you have to go through this!!! my question about the voucher is, is it strictly for the crib? or is the check in your name? Im thinking the checks ive gotten from recalls before, you can get whatever you want because its a check that you cash at the bank. Keep us posted!!!

No it's a voucher/coupon for the amount of your crib. You can use it toward the purchase of a new crib ONLY. If they new crib is less then you loose the money. Which annoys me cause my crib was $350! So I'm trying to find one around that same price. And it has to be a convertible. At this point she'll be in it soon anyways.

That just stinks!! I would be so mad and stressed. I think that I would most likely get a crib of a different color. You can use it for the next baby and get matching furniture for that crib down the road. Then buy another black crib or black bed for her when the next baby comes? I hope that made sense.

No It makes sense. DH think's it's fine to have non matching furniture. MEN! He's such a bachloer still I swear! I would drive me crazy. And then when I told him we can just use the dresser in black for the next baby ( if i buy the crib in another color ) he freaked out about buying a new dresser for Cambria. He's such a freak about money now! I told him YEARS from now buying a new dresser not anytime soon!!! ugh!

That's so annoying! So basically they gave you the voucher that expires in 6 months, but none of the stock will be in until after that time? That's just bad business, imo. It's not your fault that it was recalled. If it were me, I would just get the nicest crib possible in a different color so at least you get something. Then maybe you could try to sell it brand new on craigslist or ebay, and with the money get a black one. I'm like you, I would just hate non matching furniture.

Know anyone looking for a crib---maybe they will want one $350 or more and you can sell them the voucher?!
That sucks though....whats wrong with the crib for the recall? I guess I would maybe just keep using it if it wasn't bad or fix the problem so not lose out on the money.

hmmm....that really doesn't make sense to me. I don't think you have to get the same brand again. I go back to work tomorrow, so I'll ask to make sure, but that just doesn't make sense. And if it is true, and they won't get any in for 6 months, I'm sure they will override it or something. I would call and talk to a manager about it. I'm sorry it's so much trouble for you!

The rails all around have been known to break and cause strangulation so Its really nothing that can be fixed.

What a pain! I hope you are able to figure something out. I don't understand why so many of the cribs take MONTHS to come in.
