I won a $50 gift certificate on someone's blog to use at a company called Paper Shouts and I want to use it for birth annoucements. But I'm having trouble deciding which photos to use and which style of birth annoucment. I'm also limited since I don't have Photoshop or any photo editing skills. But I could ask someone on here to help me if I figure out what I want and what is do-able.
Here are the options:
Photo #1
Using this template: Paper Shouts - White and Baby Blue Initial
Dh doesn't care for this photo because he says it looks like Matthew is frowning.
Photo #2
Using this template: Paper Shouts - Blue and White Initial
The problem with this one is that it isn't quite as sharp as I'd like. Dh likes that he has his eyes open in this one but I think it looks sweeter to have a sleeping baby photo. Another problem with this one is that if I zoom in enough to make the photo fit, then it chops off part of his head. So in order to use this one, I would have to stick something on the sides, like a blue border to the left and right or something.
Photo #3
We both really like this one! Using either one of the templates listed above. However, even though we are big UT fans the burnt orange is going to clash with the blue on the templates. So in this case, I'd need to somehow Photoshop the picture so that the blanket is blue maybe? And then get rid of the emblem on Matthew's shirt.
Photo #4
Using either this template Paper Shouts - Chocolate and Light Blue Photo or this one Paper Shouts - Blue and Chocolate Photo
We both think this one is cute, I'm just not sure about the background. I can crop it so my mom's hand on the bottom doesn't show, but you will still be seeing her arm on the right and the pattern on her shirt. I don't know if something could be done with that background or if it really matters that much.
Other things to consider: Here is the phrase I want to use on the annoucements: "Darling baby, infant fair, Heaven's gift, our answered prayer" and then have his birthdate and weight, and name. BUT for the first 3 options and templates I am one character shy (and they won't let you add more) so I'd have to put "Heavens gift" without the apostrophe to have it all fit. That kind of bugs me, but I don't know I should let that be a deciding factor. Or if I could come up with a way to modify that phrase and make it shorter, that would work too. For option 4, that template I could fit everything in.
So what is your favorite photo and template? And if you have Photoshop skills, is it possible to edit the photos the way I mentioned? All suggestions are welcome!

I like pic one with template one the very best out of all of them. My next favorite would be him with UT stuff. I love the phrase but I think the missing apostrophe would bother me too much. The majority of other people probably won't notice... but it would drive me crazy, personally. That's a tough one.
Great pics, Matthew is such a cutie!

Picture #1 hands down!
I actually prefer this template and think it will work better with pic #1 since it's horizontal: Paper Shouts - White and Baby Blue Initial

Hmm... I will have to show them to Dh again, sounds like Pic 1 is winning on here. The only thing I personally don't like about that one is that you can't see his hair. I *could* choose a template that features more than one picture, but then of course, the pictures won't be nearly as big.

I like the idea of just one big pic. You seem to have something about each of the pics that you would change if you could... so now that you have an idea for the templates you're considering using, why not take another handful of pics?

Unfortunatley he's got some bad baby acne now. So I want to use a picture that we've already taken. I don't know when the acne is going to clear up and I kinda want it to be a "newborn" picture.

ok I'm the odd ball....I don't like one---the slit open eyes is a little freaky to me LOL I like the third one the best. Can't tell whats on the shirt so I would just leave it...if you don't like the orange maybe turn the picture B&W.

I think picture one is definitely the one you should use... a sweet sleeping baby!
As for the phrase, I am not sure what to do about that... the apostrophe missing wouldn't bug me, but if it would bug you, maybe find a different template?

I personally love photo #1, but the other photoshop edits(like changing blanket color, etc) should be doable. I can play with them if you want, just PM me with a high res version of them.

I'm confused...the light blue and white initial template is the one I already had picked out for #1.
I'll show these to Dh again soon and see what he thinks.
Jen, if he still really wants the UT blanket one, I will email you the pic if you're willing to make those changes.
Thanks for your opinions!

Picture one and template one - the light blue one. If DH won't go for picture one at all then picture 3...the sleeping baby pics are the best for birth announcements....I mean that's how they look the cutest and most adorable at that stage!
