Right now, I am working on going green with products, sustainable materials, and eliminating any asthma/allergy causing issues in the house. I'm also working on household management with the bills. I have a master calendar with each bill highlighted in a diff color and put in a little planner for when they are due..

I bought a white board to write daily Mike's work schedule, my PT/appointment schedule, his appt's and then social events. Those come from the larger calendar, but seeing one day at a time is helpful. I also have a cork board so I can put coupons right by the door, receipts for Mike to enter in the bank book, or for things I need to return. I made a place for all bills/important mail to go instead of strewn about, and hung up some 3M hooks for our Keys. The shoe rack is working wonderfully

Can anyone suggest more ideas for me?? I want to have this all down pat before our little miracle comes. Thanks!

Honestly it seems like you have stuff RTG. About the green products, are you talking about cleaning products, organic material like towels, sponges, detergent, ect?

Have you thought about buying a HEPA filter? We have 2 in our apartment since we both are technically allergic to cats. It really does help filter all the crap outta the air.

ETA: If you wanna go green with cleaning supplies, what we do is mix Green Works concentrate (a cap full... you can find this in Target) with vinegar and water in a bottle and clean with that. Honestly, I think it cleans better then regular cleaner. We also use old rags instead of paper towels to clean and dust (we still use Windex though for glass -- we just use newspaper instead to clean with). We recycle all our cardboard (since its the only recycling they do at my complex) and save all our soda cans to be returned (cause that's 5 cents back each can! It can add up!)

What saves us alot of money is planning a menu. Do you get grocery sales flyers? I look to see what things are on sale and plan dinners around those ingredients. Works the same way with coupons. Not only does it save you money, but it keeps you eating better. It's alot easier to look at the menu and say "ok, tonight is this" vs. "what do you want?" I don't know about you guys but if we play the "what do you want" game for too long, we give up and order pizza or something.

Instead of using a kitchen sponge, I just recently bought a microfiber covered sponge that was meant to wash cars with. It is machine washable! Plus when it is only damp it is a great sink/faucet polisher. Plus the sponge is extra, well, spongey, so I use half as much dish soap to wash the dishes with.

If you really want, I'll get you one and mail it to you!!! I got it at the dollar store

We have a green mommies board just so you know! Its usually got great info on this stuff.

My tip---Buy less/keep less. I didn't realize how much junk I kept/had until I was forced to live out of a suitcase. And you know what---you really don't need all that extra stuff. I rarely miss most of it. So by cutting down on what I buy really makes a difference. And when you do buy something-use it --ALL. Also try to find ways to re-use things you would normally throw away after one use.
