I know some babies don't like swings but my MIL bought a used travel swing and Henry loves it when we go over there. I just want to know if the motor is okay. Some reviews have said it shorts out.

I dont know about your travel swing, but thats what I originally wanted..then I looked at reviews and alot were saying that they were collapsing on baby. You should check out the reviews on yours just to be safe.
Ian hated the swing - but Morgan only liked the side to side motion, so we went with the Fisher Price Cradle swing (the rainforest one plugs into the wall!!) Sorry, not up to date with Graco!
Oh wow 50% off, that's a good deal! I probably have a 10% or 15% off any swing from BRU laying around here because they keep sending them to me, so if you decide you're going to get a swing I can send you the coupon(s) if you want.
Graco Lovin Hug Swing - Meridian - Graco - Babies "R" Us
we have that one (different pattern) and we literally would not have survived the first almost 5 months without it, i swear. it worried me, but ben would ONLY nap in his swing. he slept okay in his crib/bassinet at night, but naps were ONLY in the swing. he didn't care for it for anything but napping. i just took the tray off and strapped him in for naps. the only recommendation i would have would be to buy rechargeable batteries, because it goes through them fast! (or they did for us - because i put the swing on a higher level after reading the happiest baby on the block...that was the ticket for us!!)

We have this travel swing and LOVED it.....DS Loved it as well. The bad reviews seem to be about the noise and lights...which we never had trouble with - our lights worked fine the whole time we used it and still do after being stored for 3 year (new batteries of course) and I never had problems with noise. Also, many of the bad reviews talk about babies not being supported and falling forward but it isn't a swing for big babies....its for young babies and we stopped using it for DS once he could hold his head up real good and propel himself forward...however I never left him alone in it or put him in it once he was strong enough to more himself around....I think these people didn't pay attention to the weight restrictions. When he was a newborn we put a blanket next to him to support his head and he was just fine sleeping or lying in it!
