#1-- I am seeing a new OBGYN on 6/8, and if not pregnant at that point I will be ~ Day 5. So I figured it's a waste of a whole month to wait for bloodwork to confirm O.

#2-- I saw my PMD yesterday and he said he didn't really know what he was doing, but he wrote a requisition for a progesterone draw and told me to go and have it done when I needed it {Day 21- next Monday} and he had CC: Patient put on the results. The results will be mailed to me.

How do I find out what levels indicate O, even though I'm pretty sure this month is OK?

I am fairly certain anything over 10 is a good O. Anything under suggests a weak O or no O at all.

It not only confirms O, but also confirms how well the level of progesterone rises in your body in general. Confirming O isnt enough, you want to be sure you have enough to sustain pregnancy. Over 10 is the low end, my first cycle was 10.2, so still pretty low

My first time it was 32.6 and the cycle I am on now it was 20.9!! My DR said anything over 9 indicates ovulation!!

OK?

Psssst....just hijacking to remind you to bear in mind that a CD21 draw assumes ovulation on day 14, which only happens for 12% of women. That's because the best time to measure progesterone levels is around 7 DPO, which is where the whole CD21 thing came from. If you don't ovulate on day 14, the test will be inaccurate. Best to go by your actual O date rather than CD. Go in once you are 7DPO. Unhijacking now...

Thats really important too-- I ovulate on day 12 typically, not day 14. So they want to measure your progesterone 7 days after Ovulation, not just day 21 in general, because your progesterone peaks then. If I had measured on day 21, I would have been 9 days post ovulation, and for me that means only a few days away from starting, meaning low progesterone
