I am so happy!! He was so against it!! I explained that it's ok if it isn't perfect, we may just need an alternate route to our baby!! I don't want to fight a loosing battle, ya know?? If there is something wrong and we need to do IUI or something thats ok, i just want to know!! He will do it friday, and although he is not looking forword to it, he is being a good sport!!
Anyone care to share the results of there man S/A?? I would like something to compare it to!! What are good numbers??

Here are the basics:
Total concentration (So the amount that was "jizzed") most docs like to see 2.5-3.0ml's or more.
Total count (The amount usually PER ml unless otherwise noted) 20 million or greater. In generally, anything for the GRAND total over 40 million is normal.
Motility (Percentage of the little guys are moving): 50%
Morphology (Percentage of the guys that are normally formed): (This number.... there's a lot of variability to normal.. I've seen anywhere from 6-14% be considered normal)
For comparability, here was my DH's horrible counts:
2003:
Total: 2.5ML
Total count: 7.5 million
Motility: 17%
Morphology: 4%
2008
Total: 3.0ML
Total Count: 1 million
Motility: 14%
Morphology: 1%
And they only got worse from there lol
With either set of numbers for us IVF w/ICSI was the only choice.

I'm glad he's doing it! My DH has super sperm (He has fathered three children - one with a woman he was with maybe 2x and 2 with me...a girl with fertility issues.) and never needed an SA so I have nothing to add. But I hope it comes out spectacular so he can feel all proud and "puff up his feathers" a bit!

I totally forget what the good #s are. DH did a s/a last summer, and I know the results came back w/ some numbers being low. But the weird thing was that I got pregnant shortly after that, so either the test was wrong or those little guys were determined. Glad DH is on board.

LMAO, jizz in a cup!
My dudes numbers were insane the first time, I can't remember all of them but he had excellent morphology and motility and a 440 million count. The RE was impressed.
When it came time for IUIs it was a different story. Still great morph and motility, just low counts. But that is the nature of his fertility factor. Anyways, IUI with 45(?) million sperm gave us Jack!
Sorry, I realized that was of no help. I am glad he agreed though. Good luck!

Glad he decided to do it, Morgan! DH's sperm must be working perfectly well but I'm still curious what his numbers would be... I think either way it's just interesting to know!

I have "helped" Mike with his SAs. It was awkward, but he felt better about doing it.
In 2006, Mike had 0 sperm "azospermic"
May 07-- 2 mil "20% pregnancy quality"
July 08, he was at 5.6 mill, and all I remember was the thing from the Dr. said 40% of sperm are of "pregnancy quality". He has never told us the morph or motil, just what percent might make a baby
In 2006 we were told pretty much we were effed, and last summer, the dr. said we could try on our own. Mike has taken 2 rounds of clomid and they have shot his numbers wayyyyy up. I've been nagging him to call and get another SA but he's been working all day every day again. But now I'll remember to nag him tomorrow. I expect these numbers will be up again.
Good luck!!
