x-posted in breastfeeding

I think most here know of Kierans bad weight loss(from 6lbs 13oz at birth down to 5lbs 9oz and it took her till she was just over a month old to get back to her birth weight and then some at 7lbs 2oz).

The last few days she will eat every 2-2.5hrs some times every 1.5-2hrs, she has a pretty good wet diaper every time I feed her(I will change her before we nurse) and some times 1-2 other diaper changes of wet ones a day. She's been pooing 1-2 times a day the last few days. Well the last 3 nights shes been sleeping from 11pm till around 4am, and we cannot get her to wake up (She started sleeping through the night at appx 5days old and that is one reason we think for her weight loss). Tonight she last ate at 9:30 and so far its 12:11 and she hasn't woken up.

Would you let her sleep or try somehow to wake her? (I try making her naked, wiping her with a cold rag, talking to her, it doesn't work)

In all honesty hun I would leave her, a baby won't let itself go hungry, if she wants to sleep that long at night let her, she'll make up for it in the day.

Chloe has been sleeping fom 8.30 PM to 4AM the last 4 nights.

But no she'll be fine, she won't let herself go hungry xx

And like Chloes healt visitor said only the baby knows when its digested its food and when it is actualy hungry, I now don't clock watch, I feed her when she asks for it, which is normallt about 4 - 4 and a half hours.

i have never woken kirsty through the night to feed. if she's hungry she'll wake up. just make sure you keep feeding regularly through the day, as you are doing.

Her diapers say she is getting enough so I would let her sleep. She may just be a slow grower---thats ok as long as she is still growing.

I would just let her eat when she wants too..

Adriana use to be that way.. She NEVER ate the "required" amount.. I did bottle feed and all she would eat during her first few months was maybe 1 - 1 1/2 oz's a meal and at that time she was drinking breast milk (I exculsively pumped). I was unable to breast feed because she was a lazy eater and would fall asleep at the breast. Even when she was 10 months old, the max she would drink was 3-4 oz's of formula when kids her age should be drinking 6-8 oz's a meal.. I never forced her.. She did gain weight slowly, but she never dropped in percentiles until she was 15 months old.. But her head, weight, and height measurements always stayed in the same percentiles, she was growing evenly and she still grows this way today..

I know it's hard not to worry.. Because I did when I was in your shoes..

Ditto to the other girls. I doubt that is a part of why she hasn't gained weight. Reid was sleeping through the night at that age too, and it didn't effect his weight.

I see why you would think about it though.
