My mom and I went wedding dress shopping!!! We found *the dress*... after 9 hours. It was intense, but loads of fun. My back started giving out (I have back problems) and I paid for it the next day, but it was well worth it.

Oh, and the lady that was helping us was very helpful, but VERY annoying because she insisted on coming in the dressing room with me... I don't like that! I was glad she was able to pull dresses that she knew I would like based on what I told her; she really knew her merchandise and I don't think I would have been able to find the gorgeous ones she did, there were just so many!

Bear with me because I look AWFUL in the pics. I took Shannon's advice and didn't wear any makeup, and of course I didn't really sleep the night before! Anyway, so here were the top contenders, in no particular order:

Contender #1:

Contender #2:

Contender #3:

I don't have a pic angled well so that you can see the front and back, so I'm including two pics...

Contender #4:

Again, no good pic with front and back angle:

So, here's the story. I tried on #2 first. I have had my eye on it online for a long time. I've always liked it. It was affordable and fit my "simple but elegant" wedding theme.

Then I tried on #3. I didn't like it at first, but it was my mom's favorite. I didn't want the poofy princess style, and was leaning more torwards trumpet or mermaid, which is why I didn't really like it at first... but it grew on me! A random customer came up to me a few dresses later and told me she thought this one looked really good on me. She said it made me look like I have a 16" waist. Hah! I wish!

Then came #1. I absolutely loved this dress. The pic doesn't do it justice because it was 2 sizes too big for me.

Then came #4. It was the only one I liked that wasn't from Alfred Angelo. My mom thought it was gorgeous, but I thought it made my butt look fat! Then she showed me the pic she took and for some reason it looked different.

So... which one did I choose???

... Can you guess??

Which one is your favorite??

Got your guess ready??

At first #1 was my fav, but because I was on a tight deadline and they didn't have it stocked, I would have had to buy the try-on dress that, like I said, was 2 sizes too big. I would have been okay with that, kinda, but it was almost double what I set out for my budget because it was fancy schmancy italian silk. I just couldn't spend that much on a used dress, you know?

#2 was my second fav because it was affordable and pretty, but after comparing it to the other ones I thought it had a little girlish look to it.

#4 was nice, but my skin tone doesn't look as good in white as it does in ivory.

So, we had it narrowed down to the top two, contender #1 and #2, which both had their pros and cons, and went to try them on one more time. My mom said, "why don't you try on the second one you tried just one more time." (That would be dress #3.. like I said, it was her fav and I didn't even like it.) I said ok, put it on, and looked in the mirror. I saw myself, and looked a little closer... I was just thinking, wait a minute, why didn't I like this before??! I think I was just automatically turned off by the poofyness because I didn't want that style and didn't even realize how gorgeous it was. I didn't even see that it was fitted through the hips, which is what I wanted. I realized it was a lot like my #1 fav, but even more pretty with the beading details on the top and bottom of the front and on the back. I thought it was one of thier expensive lines, and I asked the lady how much it was, and it was less than HALF of #1... I was absolutely sold! And I could see me in this dress bringing tears to DF and my father's eyes. I guess Mother really does know best! That's her in the background with the camera.

One more parting pic...

This is the one!!! What do you think?

I'm so glad. When I looked at your pics & saw #3 I thought "aww..she looks like a bride in that one" and I didn't think that looking at the others. I love it!

Good choice! You look beautiful!! No make up and all, you still look gorgeous! You have a great figure and all the dresses looked stunning you.

I especially love the back of you dress. The corset is very flattering and I love how the train is gathered at the top....it makes the dress unique.

#3 is totally my favorite...I was scrolling through going "pick #3 pick #3 pick #3!"

That dress is GORGEOUS. You are ridiculously tiny and it accentuates your curves. You have a complete hourglass figure in it....it is HOT. It looks amazing with your skin tone.....you are going to be STUNNING on your wedding day!!! What a great choice!

#3 was absolutely my pick as well! It looks fantastic on you and gives you a great waistline! My dress did the same thing through the hips where it's tight across one... it's really neat! I love your gown, and that rocks that it was cheaper too! Congrats!

Oh and I had to laugh b/c to me, your dress isn't poofy at all! But then again, with my crinoline and everything I probably could have hid half the bridal party under mine. haha.

Thanks ladies, you are too kind! I'm glad it is JM approved. And the overwhelming fav amongst my ladies!

Oh and the lace up back does wonders for anyone's waistline. I wish I could claim it, but I could barely breath in there!

Krista, I LOVE the dress you chose. It is so flattering on you. I must admit I loved #2, as well, but they are both wonderful. I don't think I remember seeing a pic of you... I think we look amazingly similar! My classmate just walked past the computer and asked if you were my sister! Of course, you look MUCH better than I do without makeup on, lol.
