We just got the call 40minutes ago. I guess she was up and fine this morning and then just stopped, they called 911 and they couldn't revive her. We knew she'd go with in the next few years her heart was getting worse(congestive heart failure she had a difibulator) but she was doing ok the last few weeks (was in the hospital in early April). My mom's an only child and taking it really really hard, and right now I'm more in shock and not sure what to do, trying to not get too upset with the kids and dont wantt o messs up breastfeeding things with Kieran.

I dont know how to explain it to Seamus, hes acting up horribly right now cause he knows something up. Its why I got on JM to see how to tell him.

He knows when batteries die that things don't work, but I dont know how to tell him that Nana isn't coming back.

Sending :grouphugs: and prayers for your family! I'm very sorry Justine!!

As far as Seamus goes, my niece's g-pa passed away when she was 3 or so, and we just told her that Papa Tom just went to be one of God's angels and to watch over her. She seemed to get it.

Take care hon!

I am so sorry Seamus is so young...it may be hard to explain to him right now, but in the long term, he will be just fine, no matter how you explain it to him.

I would tell him that when people get really old, God decides that he wants them to come and live with him, since they had already done all of their great work on Earth.

I'm so numb right now, can't even cry, my whole body feels odd (no better term that i can think of). I know it will all come crashing down, but when? I feel bad cause my littlest brother is still in High School and has finals today and his dad (ex-step dad) wont let us pull him out of school, or even tell him till hes out of school at 2:209gets home at 3) and its 10:30 right now, my mom said to go get him though.

I would just sit Seamus down and explain it in a simple way. I like what Breanna said above.

My mom left it to me to write the obituary.

How does this sound, our local paper wont let me access the obituary's online without paying to be a member so I'm doing off my head from ones that I remembered when I read them.

Audrey was born August 8th, 1934, in Los Angeles, California to Edward and Pauline Killy. Growing up and spending most of her life in California, Audrey worked for the L.A. Times. She moved to North Idaho in the early 1990's to be with her daughter and grandchildren. She worked for the Coeur d'Alene Press in the mid 1990's.

Audrey was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church.

She is survived by; Her daughter Mary K. -----, her grandchildren Justine K. ----- and husband Kenneth J. -----, Jered K. ----- and Fiancee Samantha M. ----- and Scott C. -----, Great-Grandchildren Seamus P.A. -----, Kieran E. ----- and Kyrian C. -----.

I am so sorry for your loss.

Your obituary is beautiful. The only thing I would add is anything about what she enjoyed doing - gardening, spending time with her great-grandchildren, etc. I always smile when reading that part of the obituary - makes it seem less "sad" to me.
