For the past few days I've had REALLY bad heartburn! I've even taken Tums on several occasions, even though I try not to take any meds (yes, even things like Tums and Tylenol). But it is SO bad that I'm desperate! But they're not working and now I am on the verge of throwing up because it has gotten so bad.
The weird thing is, I'm not eating anything spicy or vinegary, so I don't know whats causing it (I know pregnancy is what is causing it, but usually certain foods will trigger it or make it worse). The only thing I can think of is fruit, so maybe I'll cut that for a few days until this passes. I'm chugging tons of water and that's the only thing that helps, but it only helps a little and only for a few seconds...
Seriously, now know WHY they call it heartburn! I've never experienced something like this before, it literally feels like something is on fire in my throat.

Correction: I am no longer on the verge of throwing up. I did just throw up. Who throws up because of heartburn?! That's so bizarre!

I got it too and it was different while I was pregnant. I never did anything about it. It went away after awhile. It sounds like yours is worse. Have you tired googling ways to make it go away?
Maybe drinking a glass of milk?

Well...I know you are the low carb queen, so what I'm about to stay might not be what you want to hear.
Try to eat smaller meals more frequently. Stick to foods (at least for a bit until the heartburn phase in your pregnancy subsides) that are easily digested. These are things like white breads/starches, applesauce, low fiber things. Soft fruits like bananas and pears eaten on an empty stomach should pass quickly as well.
Eat smaller amounts of slowly digested things like meat, raw veggies, milk, fats.

I can't believe someone remembered me talking about being low-carb! I don't think I've mentioned that in ages! Definitely not since before I got preggo. heh. Oh, and for those of you who think low-carb is only meat and fat, please know that I've been doing the maintenance version and am eating plenty of fruit and whole grains - just no "white stuff," so no judging.
Anyway, the heartburn is still REALLY bad and showing no signs of going away, so I think I'm stuck with it. D'oh! I tried milk, crackers, eggs, etc. I've tried every single suggestion people have thrown at me and that I could find on the Internet and nothing has helped. The only things that help a little bit are water and creamy peanut butter (found that out by accident). Weird, but it must be how it coats my throat or something... It's only a temporary fix, though. Usually gives me about 10 minutes of peace.
Oh well... I'm adjusting to it, so it's not as bad as that first day. I just hope I don't end up having this every single day for the rest of my pregnancy. That would suuuuck!
Thanks for all the suggestions! I welcome any others, no matter how bizarre!

We don't have a Chick-fil-a anywhere nearby. Heck, I don't think there are any in this state! I'll have to try substituting McDonalds or BK, ooh, or Hardee's. They're much better. hee hee.
