So, first off -- thank you ladies for your thoughts and prayers!

Basically, I am stuck here until Saturday at this point.

Now that I can type here is what happened.

Yesterday, I was crampy and having lower back pain most of the day.

I went to bed around 11pm last night.. and around 12 and 1 when i woke up to pee, I noticed i was having some BHs and feeling more crampy.

I got up around 2 to pee, and I couldn't get back to sleep. I was very uncomfortable having regular contractions. So I tried walking, drinking water, laying on the couch... nothing was helping. At 3 i started keeping track of the contractions and they were every 3-6 minutes apart. I had 15 in an hour. I decided to try and go back to bed and all of a sudden, my cat Hannah is looking out the window staring very intently.

I saw the newest feral cat ive been taking care of Chloe and i noticed she had a kitten with her! So i ran outside at 5am in the rain. Then I found 2 more kittens! So DH and i grabbed Chloe and her 3 kittens and put then in the bathroom.

Then we decided to go to the hospital.

So, I came in at 7 at the shift change.

They took a bunch of blood, and a bunch of cultures. The FFN test came back negative. But, I was 1 centimeter dilated and 50% effaced and -1 station which they did not like. They did an ultrasound and saw he was measuring 34/35 weeks and is around 5lbs 5 ozs. He was ALL over the place during the ultrasound they could barely measure him. But he is taking his practice breaths. So, they let me be for 2 hours and rechecked me again at 10:30 and I was 2 centimeters dialated and 60% effaced so i gained myself a one way admission from triage L&D to a room.

I was given 3 doses of Procardia to stop the contractions and dialation. I was given dose 1 of the steriods to mature JJ's lungs. The contractions did not stop but there has been currently no progression. Apparently, I am not allowed to eat until tomorrow morning and I have not eaten since last night.... SOOOOO.... I said F that and I am secretly eating cause I am STARVING. I have not eaten in about 18 hours currently.

So thats that with that.

BORED

Oh wow- what an adventure! I hope that JJ stays cozy in there for a while longer, but if he decides to show up early, it sounds like they are well prepared for him! Tons of t&p for a happy and healthy mom & baby! Thinking of you!

Will they at least let you eat jello or broth??

I can have ice chips... but uhhh.. Im eating. Shhh don't tell. I am STARVING and had to eat so Joe got me a sandwich. They won't let me eat "just in case" i need a c-section or something. But I am not progressing, soooo... yeah. The doc told me I cant eat until tomorrow morning maybe. The doc was like ohh your hooked up to an IV your fine! uhh no.. the fluid is not helping my feeling of hunger.

I am SO tired of peeing every 15 minutes.

I would be eating also LOL, I mean people get emergency surgery all the time and usually haven't NOT eaten in the hours prior, to me the risk of aspiration is lower then the risk of me having issues of not eating LOL.

Its the same thing with nurses not listening to their patients. I told the nurse this morning that she was picking the wrong vein to put my IV in. Sure enough, it blew. *sigh*

The IV is in my elbow fold right now. I'm stuck on the IV until the morning. Meh.

And there is this cute resident floating around.....

I am so yucky. I KNEW i shoulda showered this morning.

Yeah for "spotting the cute resident" to keep you busy and occupied! I hope that you stay where you're at and don't progress...even babies that seem big can have issues and I know you'd rather not deal with all of that preemie stuff if you don't have to.

Thanks

I managed to get permission to wash my hair, which turned into wash my face and body and shave the netherlands.... lol. I feel SO much better now. I am in my own clothes -- because i cant stand the stupid gowns. They are long and my wire get tangled and bleh! I am on procardia every 6 hours (until 37 weeks) so my next dose is midnight. Tomorrow at 10 i get my last dose of steroids and so long as all i well by Saturday morning, I can get the heck outta here. Being here sucks. Don't wish your babies to come early. They monitor everything from how much I pee (they measure it!!!), to how much water i drink and how many fluids they are giving me (on liter 3 now but its on a slower drip)

They are saying that this is preterm labor so they want to give me antibiotics just in case of group b strep, but i have thus far declined. I told them if I am progressing, they can give me something. Otherwise, I am going AMA. *against medical advice* Ive seen like 4 doctors, a PA student and about 5 nurses in 12 hours.

I wonder where that cute resident is... I've rarely seen anyone more then once around here except my nurses. (1 was horrible, 1 didn't listen and 1 was awesome.. awesome just left for the night... meh)
