So the midwifes are estimating Jack to be at least 8lbs, maybe 8.5lb, and think he could easily go to 9lbs if I keep on baking him. Seriously!?! (what is it with the Jack's being hefty?)
How big was your baby at birth, and how many weeks were you?

Seeing as my baby is still only a few inches long at the moment I figured I would share my own birth info:
I was 5lb 14oz and I was "late".
My younger brother was 10lb 6oz and was "early". My mom called it quits after him.
I don't think you have to worry about a 10 pounder!

I was told on July 14th that Seamus would be over 9lbs (U/s measured at 8lbs 15oz on the 14th), he was born on July 18th...at 7lbs 9oz! (He was born at 39weeks 6days)
Kieran's last u/s in my office Monday April 6th she was measuring 7lbs 12oz...she was only 6lbs 13oz(12.9)...and I always measured 1.5-2weeks ahead externally with both kids (born at 38weeks 3days)
Its possible that Jack could be long too so that can throw off a weight estimate, Seamus and Kieran were both longer for their weights. My friend just had a 9lb 7oz baby, born at 40weeks 6days, and she was measuring 42weeks externally at 39weeks.
I was 2days late and 8lbs 1oz
My middle brother was 2weeks late and 10lbs 11oz
Littlest brother was 3days early and 10lbs 3oz(maybe 6oz mom wasnt' sure)

My friend just had a baby 2 weeks ago, she had an ultrasound 5 days before she had her and they told her the baby was weighing 8lbs 7oz and baby girl came out only being 7lbs 11oz.

That is comforting. I know they say the estimates can be wrong. I only "worry" a little bit b/c I have always measured right on schedule, and the estimates are taken from them feeling him up, since my abdomen is all baby. She barely touched me today and was like, "Oh yup, there is his head, leg, foot, you definitely have a baby in there!" I was around 7lbs 11oz and 2 weeks early myself, so I dunno.
(And when I say worry really I am worried he won't fit into some of his really cute newborn cloth dipes! )

Those measurements are usually so off! Alice was 7 lbs 6 oz, but the doctor told me she would probably be closer to 8 lbs.

My sister was told my nephew was going to weigh like 11 lbs. if she went to full term. They ended up doing a c-section 10 days early and he only weighed 6lbs15oz.! But, I think they were wrong about her because with plus size women, I've heard it's harder to estimate the weight of the baby correctly. I know you aren't plus size, so it could be accurate, but it sounds like most of the time, the estimates are a little off.

My measurement was off the other way...they told me she would be between 6 and a half to 7 pounds and she was 8! I'm glad I wasn't expecting that though, lol. I'm sure that won't happen to you if they are already predicting large.
ETA: I was induced on my due date.

My mom was 40.5 weeks with my youngest brother. He weighed 8lbs 12oz.
We joke that he was the reason my little sister just "slid" out 4 years later! She was only 7lbs 6oz, on her due date!

Harrison was 6 pounds 7 ounces at 37 weeks - at my 35 week u/s they said he was 5 pounds 13 ounces....so if a baby is suppose to gain half a pound each week at the end then they were a little high at the u/s. Since you are getting a guesstamite by external exam only I would not rely on what they are saying what so ever!~ You'll be fine....but still Jack needs to come out!!!

Liam was born at just over 37 weeks and he was 7lbs 5oz.
Lochlann was born at exactly 40 weeks and he was 8lbs 5oz.
Just to put your mind at ease if he does end up being on the larger size. My mil is not much more than 5 feet and was barely 105lbs when she had her kids and they were both over 9lbs--she had them both vaginally with no problems.

I went into labor on my due date with both of my girls. Lily weighed 9 lbs, 1 oz and Violet weighed 8 lbs, 10 oz. I had an easy delivery with both of them and you know Vivi was a HB delivery.
