Random I know but I was trying to fill out the FAFSA and had a few questions and was wondering if anyone here would know.

#1. Theres a question asking if I became a resident of Idaho before January 2004...now we moved here in 1993 and have lived here since except for when dh and I moved to Nebraska for 7months in 2007/2008 and we got drivers licences and registered to vote there...so the answer would be No I didn't not since I techinally became a resident of Nebraska right? My mom was saying I would say yes I did become a resident before then but I'm not sure about that.

#2 its asking if I've been awarded money before, I was in 2007 but ended up not using it becasue they only gave me enough for the classes and not the supplies and books and I didn't knwo that till the day school started.

#3 I cannont for the life of me get to the section asking if I have any dependets, its already classified me as independent but its not asking me about my kids (I think this is where my 2007 grant got messed up too becasue I dont remember filing anything about seamus out). When i go to the preview page at the end to varify everything is right, theres a whole section about my marriage and kids blank and I can't get to it for some reason.

I'm assuming your filling it out online. And its a NEW form and not a corrected version?

Yes. You are a resident of Idaho if you have lived there for the last 6 months - 1 year (Depends on the states residency laws...its usually 1 year) If you have been there the last year, you are an Idaho-ian.

If it was returned, and never used then no, you were not awarded money.

Under Student information, after it asks you if you are married, it does't ask you about dependents? I know mine did. Asks me about the students family. You might need to call and speak to someone about accessing that if it really isn't working.

Hope that helps

Ive never gone to college (cept for 2 days online in 2005 then found out about Seamus (pregnancy) plus I couldnt' wrap my head around the online things, and the 1day that I went in 07 till I found out about the mess up).

Will most likely go for Computer Graphics Major...and odd combo History Minor. I always wanted to go for History but have lately been leaning more towards CG. But I have to start from scratch, I was in Pre-Calc in Jr. year of High School but when I took the placement tests in 2007 I scored at a 9th grade math level because I've forgotten it all. At the school here they make you get your general associates before you can start classes on CG.

But with the residency thingy, since in Feb 2008 we got licences and registed to vote in Nebraska didn't I then become a resident of Nebraska so the answer would be No I did not become an Idaho resident before 2004 (even though I was but I moved again) I'm just super confused by it all and dont want to get in trouble

I don't have any answers for you.. I moved to Idaho in 1992 and I joined the military in 1997.. I've been a Idaho residence since 1992, since in the military you always claim your home of record..

If you get into the computer field, let me know. I can ask my DH to hook you up at his work.. My DH works for a company in CDA in the IT Level 2 department.. They make good money, but unfortunately with the economy they had a pay freeze..

If you're stressing about the form that much, you really should call the department and speak with someone there. If you were a resident prior to 2004, despite moving to Neb, then the answer is still yes!
