Ok so Troy and I are on week #5 of the homestudy. And we were looking at all the tracks I have downloaded onto my iTunes. I can see when/where we will use most of these (if we haven't already)....it seems like week #6 we break into the fear release/special place/visulize your birth ones, and I would guess the Birthing day/early first stage/pushing baby out are for my birthing day. But we haven't ever listened to the-- creating anesthesia or entering hypnosis on cue ones?! And i our class book we can't find when we should have or will use those two. So now we are a little confused. When did you guys use yours (or do you have some sheet I may be missing that says when I should be listening to them?)??? Also, and it may explain this in class 6 but I haven't read ahead, the birthing day ones ---do I listen to those at all before birthing day or just wait TILL birthing day?
Also I'm missing the comunication exercises page--page #3 (seem this was an addition so if you used edition #4 you wouldn't have had them but edition #5 you do).....if you have 5th edition can you tell me what they are?! We haven't done any of them, instead we are kind of guessing what they may be and just have nice talks when we do the program.
Your Birth-day project----What was yours? (besides niki who just went to work all day )
We are doing our scripts together perfectly, he hasn't done his birth partner CD though-let alone 2-3 times a week!, I do my affirmations 5-6 days of the week, my deepening I'm doing my 3 times a week, not good at my daily exercises and I'm sucking at my finger drop practice and BIG suck on my protein! I'm just wondering how "good" you all were/are on your program?

I'm interested in it since the ladies who've done it have had so much success... but I really know nothing about it and definitely can't help with any of your questions. I will say though, that listening to you talk about all you have to do is kind of stressing me out.

^^^ It does SOUND like its a lot--but its really about 30-45 min a day I would say.
I'm trying to think who has all done it just in this group?
Shannon, Anna (with posterior baby), Kate (while induced), Niki......all with no pain meds! WOOT! (I think I'm forgetting people).
Michelle and me are doing it now guess we will see on us. There is some good self pressure not to be the first one to take the pain meds for me....lol I don't want to break the good run!!!

Question to Angela about the Hypnobabies (and anyone else who has used it!), I want to have a VBAC with the next baby, if I can find someone who will let me trial labor. Would hypnobabies help me with that???

I don't care if I break the run or not. I am just like whatever at this point since I may not even get my waterbirth!
Angela, I will look through my stuff later and see what you are talking about. To be honest, I just browse the book and listen to the CDs. I am the ultimate hypnobabies slacker. The only thing I don't like about it is the use of the word anesthesia--I always associate that with a hospital and an IV. The program is very relaxing though and I love how positive it makes you about childbirth.

It has a GREAT fear release section so yes I do think it would help. But really I think so many people would benefit from this program even if natural wasn't their final goal---it has helped me just feel better about my pregnancy and closer to my little bug, its made me more relaxed and confident in my body, its why I think I have had such a great pregnancy and no real health issues. My deep sleep now CD is amazing! I haven't had issues with sleep at all really---and when I kind of do its because Troy is up all night peeing/getting hot/stomach issues/and HIS pregnancy things! LOL

Whats up with maybe not getting your waterbirth?
I can see what your saying about the anesthesia though---I have a couple words in there (luckily not used that much) that put the unintended thoughts in my head as well.

I'm NAK right now and stuck in my chair but if Michelle doesnt get the answers to your questions I'll try to later.
I don't remember a birth partner CD at all? There was a birth partner study guide. Maybe your edition was different.
I don't remember a birth day project either.
I think once you reach 38 weeks you are supposed to listen to your birthing day track once just to make sure it works or something weird like that, I'll go back and look.
I did not conciously use the fingerdrop/anesthesia during labor, probably cause I didn't practice them other than while listening to the CDs. But I think subconciously I was helped b/c my labor was not bad other than the last bit and I think maybe the suggestions helped my body to progress pretty quickly.

ok I have a min while Alexa is still sleeping!
I had SUCH a SUCESSFUL birth with Hypnobabies... and if I didn't use HB- and study it pretty religiously I truly believe I wouldn't have had the birth I dreamed of with no drugs, nada!!! I did my finger drop exercises every day! I didn't do them the 3-5 times a day, but I did them every day and I was good at them by 32 weeks or so. I listened to all my scripts per the manual... which is in a box with my maternity clothes... not sure about the ones you mentioned. But I do remember the birth day ones... did not listen to til birth day, which for me was at 37 wks 2 day! And they worked like magic, and I had sooooo learned the RELAX and DEEPER and deeper with every breath that I take.... so do it!!! Study it!! Believe in it!!! Cuz it so does work to relax you and make you have a calm birth. I didn't yell out or anything and I knew I could do it!!! And I didn't have an easy birth! I labored at home for 7 hours... then got to the midwife office to get checked and was 100% effaced... so she sent me to the BC... then after laboring for another 6 hours (13 total) with total pushing for 1.5 hrs... and found out after she was born that she was face up and the cord was wrapped around her foot, so when I'd push her out, the placenta would pull her back in!!! So I know that if I didn't have my ipod on and listening to the birth day affirmations and birth day, push it out one.... I would have begged for the good stuff!!!
Angela and Michelle... I can't wait to read your awesome stories cuz I know they will be good!!!

Hey ladies! I am home from vaca, and finally catching up on my JM. I'll try to get some adorable beach pics of Drake up later. You should be listening to your Creating Anesthesia and Entering Hypnosis with Cue tracks now. I listened to creating anesthesia on the way to the hospital, b/c I was SERIOUSLY needing some anesthesia, lol. They will sound similar to some scripts Troy's been reading you. You can start listening to your birthing day track after baby is cooked. I started around 38 weeks I think, and then he came at 38 and 3. It's VERY similar to joyful pregnancy. You are right that 1st stage and pushing CD's are for the actual birth day. And although I had a nurse turn those on, I really don't remember them. I also found myself a little confused about what to listen to when, so you aren't alone.
The communication page is missing b/c we had torn it out and wrote all over it. But it's very basic, just what your hopes/dreams/plans/fears are regarding pregnancy and birth. And what you need/expect from each other on that day.
My birth day project was going to be making a easy cake, but as you all know that fell by the wayside.
Eric never listened to his birth partner script (slacker), but as it turned out it didn't matter since he didn't even make it to the birth. I think as long as he is reading scripts to you and familiar with the cues, you'll be fine. You really need to make sure the relax and peach cues are down pat between the two of you. My doula used them, and said they worked since she could see me visibly relax and unstiffen. (SP?)
I royally sucked at the whole protein thing, and I never really thought I was very good at the finger drop. I never used it in labor. I do remember being at work, in a case, and breathing anesthesia down to where I was uncomfortable. I couldn't really do fingerdrop while I was in a case, KWIM?
Okay, I think that's all my answers. Did I cover it all?
