Do you have your baby on a schedule? When did you start? I'm starting to notice his usual awake times and when he wants to eat. Wondering if it's time to start one for Henry. His days are mostly baby-led right now. We already have a bedtime routine.

We start a routine immediately after we get home from the hospital and now Rylie's day is like clockwork LoL. Routines and schedules make my life easy and keep me sane with 2 kids 17 months apart

He made his own schedule and I followed his lead. After awhile I started to try to get him to bed earlier. I have always gone with the flow for the most part.

Oh.. I did always try to do a bed time routine around the same time.

Conner is on a very good schedule but he made it up himself. He was just all ove the until he was about 2 1/2 months and then he started settling into a schedule and now it's like clockwork.

Dustin is baby led except for bedtime and morning time (he gets woken up by Curtis jumping into our bed hahah). His naps and feeds are all up to him but he is on a routine that he made. Its roughly the same each day. Sometimes he switches things up on me but I just follow his lead.

To be honest at Henry's age I would have not been able to do a routine of any kind. I think at such a young age you have to go with their flow. I know when Oliver is hungry he has to eat and when he is tired I try to help him get to sleep. I can't force him to do either if he isn't ready. I also can't make him wait if he is needing to be feed. I'm more pro baby/child led parenting. That is what comes natural for me.

I just try to keep to Taylor's routine and Rylie falls in around it. I never have a feeding schedule, I nurse on demand all day long which is every 2-3 hours. She goes to bed between 8 and 9 every night only because I don't let her sleep past 5:30 in the evening and she's usually sleeping from 2-5:30 in the afternoon anway so she's good and rested. She takes little cat naps earlier in the morning too. She's up for the day between 5:30 and 7:30. She sleeps from 8-9 at night until 4 or 5, I bring her into our bed from her crib and nurse her back to sleep and she wakes up around 7ish. I start the girls' routine at 7:30 every night. Andy gives Rylie her bath while I'm giving Taylor hers. Then Andy takes Taylor in her room and plays with her while I have a few mins with Rylie and then I nurse her, lay her on her tummy in her crib and she's usually out for the night. There are some nights where it just doesn't work but it is doable. It didn't totally start rolling along really well until she was about 8 weeks old. She was still confused between night and day time LoL.

I never tried to get them into a schedule just followed what they needed when they needed it. I'd say though that they both worked themselves into their own "schedule" by about 2-3 months old. I didn't have them on the same day schedule until Lochy outgrew his morning nap--about 9 months old. And they didn't start going to bed at night at the same time until Lochy weaned himself from needing to nurse to sleep (around 17 months).
