It is very early in the morning my time and I have been up for the past too hours nursing Landen. he just would not stop sucking and I could not sleep. Then I plucked him off because my nipples hurt and he started face planting him self into my pillow. this is the second night in a row he has done this. And he has been nursing like crazy lately and he is about to be 9 months old. I can't keep doing it like this I am seriously freaking out. I am overly stressed as it is right now and it this is just not helping. I do not want to breast feed any more but don't think I can handle the stress of weening him off. And co-sleeping is no cool if I have to worry about him face planting in my pillow and suffocating him self. This is why god intended for their to be 2 parents.I'm sure I am over reacting but I seriously want to rip out all my hair and eat my eye balls right now. I'M SLEEPY!

Sounds like he's about to have a huge growing spurt! I bet its a short lived thing, maybe 2 weeks?

Im sorry!!! It must be soo hard doing this without your DH! Could you maybe try to feed him some rice cereal with fruit before bed to replace that feeding? It would make him fuller and maybe sleep better?

I hope this is a short lived thing!!! This probably is a growth spurt

I feed him all three meals a day, fruit and cereal in the morning, veggies for lunch, and a meat for dinner. And then nurses like 20 times in between it all lol!

Angela I'm with you. I'm so done with BFing but Kirsty absolutely refuses to take a bottle. I'm so tired, it's always me who has to care for her and settle her. DH is useless, so despite us being a 2 parent unit 100% of the time, I am at the point where I'd rather be on my own with Kirsty. DH just looks at her and says in a grumpy voice "what's wrong with you now?" instead of picking her up or playing with her. It totally pisses me off.

Right now it's 5:30am, Kirsty is whinging like crazy, she woke to feed at 1:45, was in bed by 2:30 and awake by 3am... I've been awake since 1:30. I know she is exhausted but she will not sleep.

She is like Landen and BFs every 1-2 hours through the day, I'm so fed up of her being attached to me. It makes me sound like a bad mum but I can't help it. I just want to quit BFing cold turkey but she would starve.

Let's hug, cry and eat ice cream??

It's the 9-month growth spurt. It'll pass shortly and soon he'll be sleeping so much that you'll actually miss him while he naps. Seriously, it helps make up for not sleeping for several days. Keep going, mama, you'll get thru it!

Angela, hang in there. You are not alone. It will pass like everything else. Do you not enjoy breastfeeding anymore or is it just too much at night time? How do you think Landen would handle being moved to his crib? If he adjusts to that he might not wake up to nurse so often. I know this would not work with Oliver because he wakes up just as often in his crib and it would make it harder for me getting up to get him so often.

I'm having a rough time at night too. Oliver is waking up ALL the time. He rolls over and sits up for some reason several times each night. He is crying when this happens too. I was about to make my own post. My husband is no help during the night time. If I'm home Oliver is all mine. I don't mind it but sometimes I get cranky thinking about how he always gets to sleep without interuptions. We have not slept in the same bed since Oliver was born because I co-sleep and Damon doesn't feel comfortable sleeping with Oliver in our bed.

I'm sorry you're not getting any sleep. I know it's gotta be crazy hard to BF as long as you have. You're a champ, Angela!

Ivy did that too! For two weeks straight at nine months she was waking up every hour to hour and a half. I was going out of my mind! I finally steeled myself and let her CIO one night. She only cried for about ten minutes, then she slept for five hours. Now she is back to only waking up once or twice. It's not perfect but it's so much better!
