Have you ever had this?

I think I may be at risk for it.. At my 19 week U/S they said I had a low lying placenta and my doctor said that it will more likely move.. But last Friday I spotted bright red and it only lasted no more then 30 minutes.. It scared the crud out of me and I figured it was due to me working to hard at work.. I didn't see my doctor when I spotted because it went away and today I saw my Endo for my monthly blood sugar checks and she said the the spotting maybe caused by Placenta Previa.. I'm just nervous on what to expect from it.. But I'm staying positive.. I'm just thankful my blood pressure is still perfect.. lol At least that isn't going wrong with me..

I've never had it, I had an SCH with Kieran and bled till 16weeks so I know thats super scary to bleed no matter how short a time.

I was told that I had it at my 19 week u/s and my doc scheduled me for another scan at 32 weeks. He said that in 99% of the cases, the placenta will move from being so close to the opening of the cervix. Mine was out of the way at the 32 week scan.

Melissa....I had low lying placenta with Nora...and I had the little bit of spotting prior to and up until it moved out of the way...and it did...well actually they say the placenta doesn't move but as your uterus grows the placenta becomes further away from the cervix. It's very unlikely that it will develop into placenta previa. Mine didn't and I was able to go on and have a vaginal delivery and a healthy baby. Try not to stress at this point! (Trust me - I know that is easier said than done!)

I had placenta previa with both Edward and Preston and it moved. Try not to worry too much about it. And take it easy at work too!!

Thank you ladies for the support.. I feel better know that I know there's a huge chance that it will be no problem.. One thing I learned with this pregnancy is not to lift that many boxes because I get a heavy feeling down there after I do.. But what's weird is that I can lift my 24 lb daughter with no problem.. so strange..

My doc had told me to look at it this way...He said, image you have a deflated balloon and you mark a dot close to where you would tie it when you blow it up...once you blow it up and it gets bigger, that dot will move further away from the tie/knot. He told me to image that the uterus is the same.

I hope that's what happens and I like the way you explained it to me.. Makes so much sense.. My fear is that I might be put on bed rest.. Which is something I can't do, since I need to work. Plus, it's not good for the diabetes for me to just be lying around.. lol
