Or its a publicity stunt to get EVEN MORE people to watch tonight - especially now that they know what will happen. Trying to get the ratings while they can!
Not a shocker, but still so very sad.

Although I must say, in one of the 4 or 5 places I read, Kate is the petitioner. She was VERY smart to wait until Cara and Maddie were out of school for the summer to not have to hear it around the playground.
And she makes more? This divorce will sure set some case law!

Of course Kate makes more... that's one of the things Jon has complained about. She's out giving speeches and doing book tours while he's a SAHD ... he said he liked his job and role outside of the house and didn't want to give it up. So she's out making more $ and undoubtedly controlling it all.

I have to go on a limb here and say they aren't doing it for publicity. Whether you like Kate or you don't, she's still a mom...and I really just don't see her tearing her family apart, hurting her kids, and causing them all this trouble for ever just to be a little more famous. Maybe TLC is playing it up to get ratings during the last few episodes (well what I assume would be the last few episodes) but I don't think the family themselves are. It's just so sad.

I have to disagree Caitlyn. If you want your kids to grow up happy, healthy and well adjusted you don't pimp them out to the media. There's plenty of other families with higher order multiples that didn't invite the eye of the public into their homes. Maybe they do a documentary every couple years or let a news station cover a birthday party but Kate and John put their children in the media spotlight. That's not good parenting in my book at all....

I don't see it as a big surprise. I don't see how anyone could live their lives with cameras on them all the time. I feel bad for the kids.

I dont find what they do to be "pimping the out to the media". I do think they probably should have quit a while ago when it started getting to be a bit too much but I don't think the fact that they are on TV immediately concludes that they are bad parents.

I cried like a baby through that and I literally feel sick now. I feel absolutely awful, not only for the kids but for Kate and Jon as well. It gave me a whole new perspective on my husband and how I never, NEVER, want to be in that situation.

I teared up a little as well, but i saw it coming fir so long that it wasnt such a shock. i feel really bad for the kiddos. & i honestly feel for jon more than kate
