I was just wondering what everyone is doing for 4th of July weekend? Do you do the same thing every year? We normally go to my grandmas then have friends and my sister and her boyfriend over. This year since we go a new boat, were gonna leave Thursday night and go out to the lake and stay until Saturday then come home and do the family BBQ/swim thing!
Oh, and I really need to share with someone so ill share with my JM girls... Jason and I had unprotected sex Friday and Saturday CD14 & CD15..... Sometimes the passion just really gets to us!

Laughing about DTD
Well the 4th is my birthday so it's partying all weekend! Friday night will be with my inlaws, and Saturday my aunt is throwing a crab fest for me.

Any idea if you O'd recently!?
We do something different every year. Our first 4th of July I was at the beach with friends and he worked.. but we'd only been together officially for 4 days so whatever! 2 years ago we went to Boston for the fireworks, last year we went to a party at our friends, and this year we are going camping with my parents. We both have friday off so we are leaving friday morning and coming home Sunday. My parents are bringing their boat so hopefully the weather here in "Seattle wanna-be" gets better!

GL Ashley!!!!
As of right now we are will be having a BBQ at my brother's house on friday afternoon.. They have a huge fireworks display on the 3rd and my brother doesn't live far from where it is so we are just going to watch the fireworks at his house!
On the 4th as of right now we have no set plans! We may do something with FIL, but not sure yet!

We use to always go to my FIL's lake house that is on an island. Now that we have Oliver we won't be going. FIL & his GF don't want children their. They are not baby/kid people.
My MIL is coming on Thursday and staying until Sunday. We will BBQ a couple times. I'm hoping that we do something fun like take Oliver to the zoo. I'm looking forward to having 4 days off!

 Ashley!
Friday the 3rd is DH and I's 6 year dating anniversary and that's when we're telling his parents we're pregnant since I'll be 12 weeks and my appt is this Thursday where we'll hear the HB, etc. I am not looking forward to telling them one tiny bit! So Friday will be no good for me.
Saturday, the 4th we have a big parade in our town every year. The last 4 years or so I've been in it and it is a lot of work running along talking to people in the heat for like 2.5 miles. Our local grassroots support organization for the FairTax asked if I'd go with their float but I just can't do it this year. I don't even know if I'll wake up to watch it. After the parade we always go back to my mom's to her pool and grill out and the whole family comes over. At night our city puts on a hugeeeeeeeeeee fireworks display and since we're a town of golfcarts the whole city is just packed. People start setting up blankets, etc. DAYS before the 4th just so they can 'save' the 'good spots.' So we'll take the golfcart out somewhere and watch. Last year we went to the lake and to get a good view we waded in about knee deep which was nice cause we were cooled off too. We'll see.

Yeah. Neither have any grandbaby fever even though Ben has an older half brother who is 40... so technically they should already BE grandparents. FIL even told my mom on our wedding day that we "better not" have kids any time soon. MIL has no filter and is a total idiot and says whatever she thinks... she's already said that BFing is 'gross' and that people with 'our sized' boobs CAN'T BF b/c we would "smother the baby" etc. and I know she's going to be a total PITA. She also is BROKEEEEE and goes shopping at thrift stores and garage sales like daily so when she eventually does warm up to the idea she's likely to be bringing crap over that we don't want or wouldn't use. I'm just waiting for her to buy everything to decorate my nursery and it's like... *I* want to pick out that stuff! And with me not being done with school, etc. it's just kind of less than idea timing and it's TOO LATE NOW so I don't even want to hear what they think about it, kwim? There's like no way they'll just be happy... they'll have all sorts of opinions on it that I WILL NOT tolerate. Ugh.

If they start talking negative will you speak up and let them know that you don't want to hear it? I know I'm always too chicken to speak up for myself. I really hope that they surprise you and are supportive but I know that is a long shot.

Oh absolutely I will say something. Right now my "go-to" line is "We're not looking for your approval, and we will not tolerate your disapproval." and then just leaving. His parent's are divorced and we're telling them @ the same time so there's the chance that they'll want to have a 'better reaction' than the other and we're hoping to play that to our advantage. His younger sister who is 19 will be told then too and we're pretty sure she'll cry and be happy so we're hoping that leads them to having a positive reaction. Still, I told Ben we should meet them for ice cream at an outdoors only place so it's hot and we won't have to be there long. haha.

That sucks Thats kind of the same situation my sister was in with worrying about peoples reactions. We just kept telling her when you tell them just act totally normal, not nervous, not scared, not shy about it, just be yourself and act COMPELTELY happy like you are and they cant come down on that. If your smiling and so happy I dont think they can really make any mean comments, ya know? Just dont worry about it and itll be okay, your happy and Ben is happy and that is all that matters. As you said, you dont care to hear about anyone who disapproves so they can either keep it to themselves or voice their opinion and risk getting into fights and you possibly not wanting to come around as much. Their loss if that happens, ya know?
GOOD LUCK! I for one am very happy for you to tell! Are they the ONLY ones who dont know now? Or do you still have to tell friends and like the family who you are not as close with?

Good luck Ashley!!!! I'm excited for you!
I hope telling the in laws goes well Shannon. When we told my FIL about Loch he said "Ugh, this isn't great timing guys." No freaking duh, but we didn't plan it! It surprised me because he's usually very supportive but he warmed up very quickly. I hope your in laws do too.
I'm not totally sure what we're doing for the 4th yet. I think my niece is coming for the weekend and I think we're supposed to go to dh's aunt's shore house. It should be fun. Lochlann hasn't been to a real beach yet, just the lake so this will be his first time. Too bad it has to be the Jersey shore.

I feel bad like I'm hijacking this thread!
My parents have known since the beginning of May, and my bff and DH's bff know... same with one of my bosses and of course you ladies on JM. So as a courtesy to his parents we're waiting to tell them before the rest of my family/friends/world. To be honest though, DH wants to shout it from the rooftops whereas I'd rather deal with other people's advice/opinions/suggestions as little as possible and I don't really care about telling anyone and having them start eyeing my stomach and waiting for me to get fat, etc. haha. I'm not wanting to make a big announcement to my sister or anyone.... they can just find out when it comes out for all I care. haha. I guess I just feel like I'm surrounded my judgemental people and I'd rather not share this with them for as long as possible.
