Damon has a baby name for the next boy. I DO NOT like it.
The boy's name Volker \v(o)-lker, vol-ker\ is of German origin, and its meaning is "people's defender". Variant of Folker.
Baby names that sound like Volker are Vollker and Walker. Other similar baby names are Folke, Melker and Valter.
Volker is a very rare male first name and a very popular surname (source: 1990 U.S. Census). Displayed below is the baby name popularity trend for the boy's name Volker. Compare Volker with related baby names.
It sounds like vulgar to me.

I agree with you, it does sound like "vulgar." I'm not a fan of that one at all! What are your thoughts for future baby's name?

I reminds me of "Meet the Parents". Gaylord Focker!!!! That's awful!!! At least he's trying!!! You should ask him what he suggests for a girl!

I don't have any boy name that I feel 100% about. Some that I have thought about our Francis, Peter, Evan, .. but after thinking about them and looking at them just now I don't like them. I really like Noah but DH doesn't. For a girl I still like Eleanor.
How about everyone else? What names do you like?
On second thought I'm really liking Franis. Frankie would be a cute nn.

Francis is totally cute! And I love Eleanor!
We actually have names set in stone now. Ian said if we have a girl I can name her whatever I want but I wanted the name to be something he loved to. We reached a decision fairly recently. Shannon Frederick for a boy, and Evelyn Luna for a girl.

That sound's like something my DH would say. He also said a while ago that if we had a boy he wanted to name him after an Industrial bad, can't remember which one though...lol. We can never decided on Boy's names ( Although before our boy name was Lochlan and maybe Liam...and Yes Jenn I will always think of you guy's! haha ) If we have another girl I like Breslyn leea Reece ( can't decided on which one to be the middle name, maybe both ) but I know DH wont like it.

Damon likes to *think* that Oliver came from the lead singer of Evil's Toy or they are called TOY now. You know that band right?

I love Eleanor as a girls name! But I agree with the other's that Volker is a less than stellar choice, and I am ALL for unique names. I think the search is part of the fun part.

Nope don't like Volker
Right now our top two boy names are Sawyer James & Graham Joseph!
Girl names are still up in the air but we have finally found one that we both like, Adelie (Ada Lee) Catherine... We both love Adeline also, but I have a cousin/godchild named Caroline and I think its too close... Girl names are tough for us DH doesn't like what I like and I don't like what he likes..

I'm not a fan of Volker! IF we were having a boy or if we have a boy later on- we picked the name Noah Brandt....

Yeah..not feeling that at all. SorrY Damon
As far as my future boy name I would like to say that I had this picked BEFORE TWILIGHT....his name will probably be Jackson Edward (Edward being Nics father's name and Nic's middle name..Jackson just being one of my top boys names) As far as girls, I really like Annabelle.

hmm ya not a fan hehe. I think it sounds vulgar too.
I love Eleanor though! That sounds great with Oliver
If we had a girl... her name would have been / will be Nichole Rose.
I have NO idea what we will do if we have a boy... both boys are named after James... but I don't think you can do James junior when he's the third boy! hah but I would love JJ That would be CUTE but I don't like the junior thing.

I don't particularly like it either. I have a friend named Volus (Vole-us, kind of like Wallace) and I like that name though. Victor or Viktor are good V names too!

I don't care for Volker because it just sounds kind of evil to me. It doesn't sound like 'vulgar' to me though. I just feel like it sounds evil and is hard to picture a baby as cute or nearly as cute as Oliver having such a scary sounding name
Lily Rose is our girl name, After my mom Lillian and my grandma Rose... my mn is also Rose. This has been set in stone for like the last 4 years or something. I'm less of a fan of it now because of how much it's gained in popularity... Ive met TWO Lily Roses. Seriously. But DH is dead set on it and we'd already told my mom so I'll just go with it. I'm still hoping this one's a boy.
I have the boy named picked out and I'm waiting for DH to agree. I think I'll get my way, but until then I'm not opening my mouth or I might jinx it

I actually knew of a guy with that name. I don't think it sounds like vulgar but I'm not a fan of it.
