A few nursing pics I took this morning. My goal is to get him to 2 years which will be next month! I'm not sure we'll make it though because we're really winding down now. We're operating on a don't offer/don't refuse basis. If he asks its only first thing in the morning. He's been asking less and less and will go a couple days without it and then want it again. So I think we're on our way out and I don't know if we'll make it til 2 so on the advice of the ladies over at breastfeeding past a year I snapped some pics before he's completely done.
And I wanted to thank you Brandi for your support over on breastfeeding past a year. Your words helped me tremendously. Thank You!
They're not the best pics because I had to take them myself.

Aww. I love your Lochy breastfeeding pictures. My favorite is one you have posted in the past. He is smiling and looking at the camera.
Are you having a hard time with it nearing the end? I know it will be hard for me and I will feel sad about it. I really hope he makes it until his 2nd birthday. That is a great goal and a great amount of time for him to have had BM. I hope we can last that long.

It is very bittersweet for me. I'm so glad we made it as far as we have (and still going!) and that weaning will be on his terms. I am going to miss the closeness of it though, our special time, ya know? I think he feels like we're coming to the end too because he's been a lot more clingy lately--always needing to be in my lap or laying on me snuggling. Kinda like he's trying to capture that closeness in other ways. I have a lot of guilt from my breastfeeding relationship with Liam that I'm carrying over to Loch's, which is not good because they are two completely different situations, but it's something I'm trying to work through. All in all I think I'll be ok with it. If he was my last baby though I think I would be having a harder time.

Aw that's so awesome. I'm so PROUD of you for making it to nearly two years! That's huge and a lot of love and devotion! It's great that he's weaning on his terms but I'm sure it's sad too.

Thanks guys! He wanted to nurse again this morning so who knows how long he'll go on with it. He seems to change his mind every few days, going from wanting nothing to do with it to needing it right now.

Yeah that's normal for him. It's all the orange/yellow colored veggies. You can especially see it with his nose. It's like pulling teeth getting him to eat a pea or a green bean! I had to sneak the green beans in his spaghetti last night. LOL

Yeah, both my boys were jaundiced too. It's a different look in person. Liam was the same way with the veggies. I guess too many carrots! LOL

No the whites of his eyes are white. It's mostly concentrated on his nose, chin, and those kind of places. He's had that yellow tinge since we started introducing solids. He was never one to like green beans or peas but he'll eat salad and he'll eat the greens if I hide it in food he likes. Plus he drinks quite a bit of V8 Fusion which is the only juice I give them and that has a lot of carrots and sweet potatos in it. I went through the same thing with Liam. And we've been down the jaundice road twice when they were newborn so I know what that looks like. Plus his pedi has seen it and said the same thing about it being the veggies. It's very common.

Jenn you should be so proud of yourself for making it this far with the BFing! What an awesome gift you've given your son! I hope I can do that too, one day.
